Bissell 6596 bagless turbo - minimal suction & burning smell

Machine developed this problem recently. Accompanied by a roaring noise. Problem the same with the hose totally removed. All filters are clean and belt still goes around. Is it possible there is dirt inside the motor assembly itself? If so can this be accessed easily to clean it out? Thanks. Peter

I have a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Bagless Vaccum and I love it. I have replace the belt and filters and cleaned out the hoses by I am not getting any suction. All the dirt seems to blow out the back onto my feet. The beater is spinning so I;m not sure where to go next.

You can reach the motor, however your motor is no longer in operable condition. This is what you hear when you turn it on. You must replace the motor for this to go away. Below is the motor part number if you would like to replace it. It will cost you about half the amount of the unit to replace.

Motor # 2032211

Partially useful. Could consider adding the source of purchase of a new motor. Also is it possible to get the motor winding redone?
If possible, do mail me a solution at coljai@yahoo.com

The belt on my vacuum cleaner model 6596 bissel powerforce bagless turbo keeps breaking. As soon as I put on a new belt and start it up the belt snaps. It is the durabelt meant for this vacuum model....

I would guess you aren't centering the belt correctly, thus it's edge is caught between the brush and another solid object, causing the breakage.
When you get the belt on the the brush and the brush back in place, turn the brush a few times by hand to make sure it's not catching on anything. After you get the powerhead put back together, do this again. It's a common problem if the powerhead isn't assembled correctly.

Here's a video clip from the Bissell site demonstrating changing the belt.

Bissell 8990 CleanView Bagless Upright - Loud noise

Sounds like maybe your motor went bad, part # 2031052. Would sell for about $60. When the bearings go bad, they can be real loud as well if the fan on the motor when it gets damaged.
