When i look through the lens or the lcd, both are blurry

Blurry image on camera mode is problem of defective CCD imager and required replacement.

Sony will repair your DSC-F717 free of cost as per announced scheme of CCD imager problem in few models and DSC-F717 is in list.

The screen seems to be defective you may have to replace the screen to make sure please take some photographs if the pictures are ok then replace the screen.

try cleaning the lens first.

when taking the picture press down lightly so it will focus. Then press harder for the picture.

This is a result of Sony CCD recall issue - working with Sony for repair.

Hi Bella

That code means that the lens unit was unable to move from home position to switch on position.

These lens are extremely complex and I doubt if you could find someone able to repair the lens.

Therefore I suggest contacting Sony to find a accredited dealer to quote you on replacement of the lens.

My guess is it will cost half of what you originally paid for the camera.
