Honey! It's broke. You can manuever the little black valves out, but you will only find the hole in the clean water tank. I have the EXACT same problem. My advise to you is to take the valves, caps and handle off, sell them on EBAY and then buy you a whole new clean water tank.

in the front on top the cover that curves down to the floor is where the suction is .it should be plastic you can see into.its probably clogged with hair and dirt.you need tro take that top off and it comes apart in two sections .the middle seperates from the outer part.once apart you can clean it with soap and water.after you get that off you will see on your left side a long square port that needs to be cleaned also.please leave feedback.i hope i was of some help to.pete

There are several possibilities for low pick up. The most common problem is that the lid is not correctly seated on the recovery (lower) tank. It is also possible that the rubber seal on the motor standpipe is out of place. The round tube on the bottom of the tank sits against the seal. Remove the tank and look for a large rubber ring on top of a plastic pipe. A less common issue is damage to the rug nozzle because the screws holding it against the carpet have been broken loose by dropping the shampooer on it's nose.

Remove the brush assembly and insert a flat screwdriver into the square hole and be sure it turns. If it is seized up, the turbine assembly will require replacement. If it turns, be sure the brush control is set to the brush position and the filter is clean. The filter may be on top behind a clear plastic cap, or underneath in red plastic holder depending on the model. The brush will also not turn unless the lower tank is in place, and the handle released and tilted back.
