Hi.

To install a different language - Multilingual User Interface (MUI) - you need to have Windows 7 Ultimate.

Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate
Type Anytime Upgrade in the Search programs and files box in the Start menu and click on the Windows Anytime Upgrade icon. From there, you can buy an Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. Then your can enter your Anytime Upgrade product key and perform a simple upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate so you can install a different language.

If you are in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US you can use Anytime Upgrade. If not you will need to buy Windows 7 Ultimate, or buy Windows 7 in the language you need.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/windows-anytime-upgrade

Install Language Pack in Windows 7 Ultimate

1. Start -> All Programs --> Windows Update --> Optional Updates.
2. Open optional Updates and go to the section Windows 7 Language Packs.
3. Tick the Language Pack you want and hit OK
4. Proceed with Install Updates
5. Depiction of Windows 7 downloading a Language Pack
6. Automatic install initiated after download

How to change the Windows 7 Display Language:

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Clock, Language, and Region / Change the display language
2. Switch the display language in the Choose a display language dropdown menu.
3. Click OK
4. Log off for the changes to take effect (This will affect only the user profile under which you are currently logged on).

The only other way to get the English language is to use the recovery partition or recovery disk to start over from scratch.

If there is anything else please post back..

Good luck.

My os is japanese character

You can only change the language of Vista if you have Vista Ultimate
or Enterprise.

With Ultimate, you can download the language packs for free.
Just open Windows Update, choose "view available updates",
and check the language pack you want.

Afterwards, from Control Panel (categories view), just choose
"Change display language" under "Clock, Language and Region".
Pick your language, log off, log on, and done.

If you have another version of Vista other than those two,
such as Windows Vista Home Premium,
you'll need to purchase a "full version" of Windows
Vista in your desired language and perform a "clean install" or
install it on a separate partition or drive (dual-boot).

How change french keyboard back to english keyboard (Vista)

Ok heres where you need to go

Start Button (Circular Button With Microsoft 4 Coloured Square Logo)
Control Panel
Regional & Language Options
Keyboards and Languages (3rd Tab Along from Dialog Popup Window)
Then click the Change Keyboards Button
Under General Tab under installed services Click Add on right hand side.
Find English UK or English US whichever you prefer and then
once you have added that one change your default to the English one
then you will be able to remove the french one if needed.

I hope you find this post useful,

Toshiba Satellite a215-s4747 randomly crashes

Hi!

When you says you run hardwarae diagnostic I guess that it is the hardware diagnostic tools from the computer itself.

Try downloading this software, it is a ISO image, so burn in a CD and boot from that CD.

It will boot up and run a memory diagnostic in DOS mode.

I think that this is a memory problem.

P.S. Did you clean the memory contacts and memory slots in the computer?

Do you have more than one module of memory RAM? In that case try with only one and switch with the second one to see what is the defective module.

Changing vista ultimate OS from french to english

Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Regional and Language Option

Click the Keyboards and Languages tab.

Under Display language, choose a language from the list, and then click OK.

(If you don't see the list of display languages, you need to install additional language files first. You do this from the Vista Install CD.)

Cheers

Language

Though Windows Vista has multilingual capabilities, you cannot change the language in
which the toolbars, etc are displayed. If you have a French user interface
then nothing you do will turn it into English. Your only option is to buy an
English version of Vista and then do a clean install.
