Good morning. Thank you for your support. I did in fact solve the mysterious problem. The dishwasher has a delayed 1-3 hr timer on it. Apparently some fingers decided to play with the key pad and it had to be re-scheduled.
Thank you for your time.

Try this, in your manual at the bottom of pg. 229 that says, "If you turn off the power while the 'shooting settings display' screen is displayed, the same screen will be displayed when you turn on the power again. To avoid this, press the <INFO> button to turn off the display on the LCD monitor, then turn off the power switch."
The converse also applies. Get into the shooting settings display with the INFO button and power down. The display will come on when you power up again.
It also solved my problem of getting the mode selection button selections to show on the LCD when needed.
Hello Michael - Sounds like the temperature control was
accidently turned OFF. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the
compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other
electronics. Let's try activating the freezer by pressing the UP arrow until
display shows "4" or desired setting. Allow 24 hours for temperature to
stabilize. For future reference you can lock the control to keep from accidently
changing the temperature setting. I ask that you please follow up with a
comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting
is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully. Thank you.
Well by going through the motions I assume you mean it fills and washes etc. There is just no lights on the display. Since it is brand new my guess is that it is a bad display. perhaps a connector came loose during shipping. Either way you should not have to mess with it. Contact Bosch and have them take care of it. You could try and see if there are any obvious loose wires. Turn the breaker off at the panel so there is not power to the unit at all. Then look around for a loose plug module something like these
At back camera, have lamp flashes orange where to indicate flash is charging and to tell image will not recorded(disable). You will can not take another flash until that lamp is stop flashing orange to indicate charging is full. in other view, please check at lcd screen have appear flash icon. click button play mode to display menu. change set flash to on if flash icon is not display
If its actually running through the cycle normally, with all functions as they should then the power board is ok, BUT the display board part # WD21X780 -
SIG BRD&HSG**NLA 01/08** is showing as no longer available unfortunately.. if you can find it expect to pay a fair chunk of change for it..
However if you tear the door and console apart you may inspect the display control board and find a very obvious broken wire to the display.. ya just never know. best of luck, and have fun, ttfn
try changing your Display/ TV Connection setting under the setting menu - it may need to be set to "composite" (not RGB) if connected as displayed in the instruction manual - worked for me anyway (hope it does you).
