Good day Mickey, First I'll provide you with a link to the manual if you need it: http://22.214.171.124/public/25861_current.pdf I know it's a weird lokking link, it's a server from thompson which is the parent company for GE home electronics, not exactly yoo east to find. Anyway on to the problem at hand, To make it answer after more rings there is switch on the back of the base. It hase 3 settings 3/5/TS. If set to 3 it will pick up in rings, set it to 5 and it will pick up in 5 rings. The TS setting stands for TollSaver, do not use this setting, TS will cause it to pick up in 2 rings. Set it to 5, however if you want to get 10rings before it picks up there's a little trick. When the answering machine gets full it will start picking up in 10rings, they do this so you know your answering machine is full. You can still leave a meassge even when it's full, it will automatically delete the oldest message to make room for a new one. However the display on the machin will display an F instead of the number of new messages. Well I hope the helps with that problem, because I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that phone has a maximum capability of 10 speed dials (0-9) and that's the max. There are models on the market with lots of speed dials but there usually corded phones. Well Good Luck & I hope this helps. L8R

SOURCE: no dial tone
Have you tried a known good phone in the jack, if that doesn't work take the phone to the demarc box provided by your phone company and open the door on the box. Under this door locate the mini jack and disconnect it, then plug your known good phone into that jack. If you get no dial tone at this point, then it isn't being provided by the local phone company so it's their trouble. Thank you. Jerry

Please be sure to put the extra handsets in the MAIN base station to register. They will not register in the small remote charger stations.
Let me know if that fixes the problem!

SOURCE: The ringer of the handset
There are two ways to set the ringer to HI/LOW/OFF. One is the traditional way as described in the Programming Functions; Handset Setup; Ringer Volume menus. The other one is this short cut to ringer menu.
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
2. Press the #PAUSE/RINGER button to display 1HI 2LOW 3OFF.
3. Use the touch tone pad on the handset to select 1, 2 or 3, or use the CALLER ID-VOLUME ( 6 or 5) button to scroll to your selection. HI is the default setting.
4. Press #PAUSE/RINGER button again to save and display the new selection for a few seconds.
Or you can get the manual on the link below. It does not tell you how to rest the phone. If you can not read it on the top bar change the % to where you can read it.
