SOURCE: No dispensing of water from container.

Check the bottom of the tank, there should be a gasket on the valve at the bottom of the tank. Must be on the tank and not sitting in the hole. Make sure the tank is sitting firmly and not off set even a little. Loosen the cap for the flow indictor while running, then tight when fluid starts leaking out, stop when the spinner starts spinning. Other then that you may have a clogged line somewhere.

SOURCE: not dispensing water and no suction

I'm assuming the belts are OK.... Your heater is clogged. Unplug the machine and let it sit for 30 minutes. Take the handle apart, there will be a 4 inch by 8 inch metal box inside. This is the heater. Remember I said to let the machine sit for 30 minutes? If you didn't, the heater may be EXTREMELY hot!! Disconnect the two hoses going into it, and clean the metal pieces out (that the hoses connected to) with a needle or very small drill bit. You may want to remove the 6 or 8 screws holeding the heater together and remove the cover to clean it out. Reassemble and fill both tanks with VERY hot water ONLY and run the machine to rinse the entire system.

To prevent future reoccurences... use only Bissell extraction shampoos. Never put anything in the detergent tank except shampoo. (And only water in the water tank) Mixing chemicals with anything else turns the water/detergent mix to sludge. Also, when finished shampooing, put ONLY water in both tanks, and run the machine until one of the tanks run out of solution. Doing this rinses the hose lines out and prevents hardening of the solution in the heater ports.

I've fixed these machine for years. No dispensing is almost always the heater clogged.

SOURCE: Followed directions on filling water and solution

The tubing is clogged, you need to take the tubing off and clean it out or some how force some hot water thru the tubing and clean it out. this happens when you don't run clean water thru thesystem after using the cleaning solution. The solution dries and hardens in the tube.
here is some other tips that should help you get it back up and running

Hoover SteamVac F5851 - solution dispenser and extractor running simultaneously.

If your Hoover SteamVac F5851 is simultaneously dispensing the cleaning solution and extracting it while you have the trigger depressed, there may be an issue with the unit's internal mechanism. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Check the trigger mechanism: Make sure the trigger is not stuck or jammed in the depressed position. Gently press and release the trigger a few times to ensure it moves freely.
2. Inspect the solution dispenser: Examine the solution dispenser to see if there are any clogs or blockages that might be causing the simultaneous dispensing and extraction. Clean the dispenser thoroughly, removing any debris or obstructions.
3. Verify the solution flow setting: Ensure that the solution flow setting on the SteamVac is correctly adjusted. There should be a control or dial that allows you to adjust the amount of solution being dispensed. Make sure it is set to the desired level and not malfunctioning.
4. Check the suction nozzles: Inspect the suction nozzles and brushes to ensure they are securely attached and not damaged. If any parts appear loose or worn out, you may need to replace them.
5. Clean the unit: Give your SteamVac a thorough cleaning, both inside and out. Remove the recovery tank, rinse it, and make sure it is properly reattached. Clean the brushes and nozzles to remove any built-up dirt or debris that could be affecting the unit's performance.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be a more significant problem with the internal components of your SteamVac. In that case, you may need to contact Hoover customer support or take the unit to a professional repair service for further assistance.

How to clean brushes on hoover steam vac

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

Cleaning the brushes on your unit is crucial in maintaining your Hoover performing at it's best and it is very easy to do. First, make sure your unit is off and unplugged, and make sure to remove the clean and dirty water tanks to avoid any possible leaking.

With the handle in the upright position, tilt the unit back and rest it on the floor. Grad the brush assembly and pull firmly until you remove them from the unit. Clean the brushes with running water until the water runs clear and the brushes are clean.

Hoover floormate fh40160 won't dispense solution

Hi there! Sometimes it is necessary to prime the trigger to get the solution flowing. Try these quick steps.

1. Recline the handle.
2. Pump the trigger vigorously about 60 times.
3. Power the cleaner on and squeeze the trigger for 60 seconds.

The cleaner should start to dispense the solution. Be sure you are using only the recommended cleaning solution to avoid internal damage. If your Floormate is still not dispensing there could be an issue with your pump. We would recommend taking the cleaner in to a Hoover authorized service center for repair. Follow the link to locate the nearest service center to you. Service Center Locator

How can I fix my Hoover spin scrub 50 solution trigger? It is not working.

Hey there! Sounds like you have no tension in your trigger. This could mean a problem with the trigger spring or control rod in the handle. Try reassembling the handle. Remove the two handle screws and slide the handle up and off. Inspect the control rods for damages. They should be the same length. Make sure they are pulled down as well. Reassemble the handle. If the trigger still has no tension but the cleaner dispenses from the hose, a replacement handle may be needed. To replace the handle, follow the link below.

How do i use my bissell 7920

The 7920 is a great little carpet shampooing vacuum. Look up manual information for detailed assembly and starting/breakdown procedures. Make certain that the carpet/floor has been vacuumed previous to cleaning with the shampooer! The small nozzle opening will get clogged with as little as a toothpick or cheerio! Step on the rear release arm pedal and drop the handle down to the floor, Pull up on the resevoir bucket handle and place the handle of the resevoir back down to open the top of the tank and fill the bladder with hot water. Replace bucket top and place bucket back into vacuum. Raise the handle until it clicks into place. Fill on board soap/shampoo dispenser by lifting out of chamber on unit and fill with appropriate Bissell or upright shanpoo cleaner. Replace unit and make certain the top is tight. Plug unit in and turn on both vaccuum switch and preheat water switch and wait approx. 2 minutes to get water hot enough to proceed with cleaning. Start by rollling cleaner onto carpet and engage trigger approx 2-3' pathway away from you and then release trigger and draw vacuum /shamppoooer back over wetted area, repeat without using water again unless heavier traffic area. Do not over wet area draw unit back and forth a few times until water runs clear thru the front clear window. Proceed to make another path along side cleaned area and so on.
Once you hear the water run out or you have finished cleaning an area then shut of heater and vacuum. release handle with foot pedal release and lift out bucket and pour out dirty water and rinse area/tank /resevoir etc. You should also clean the small red filter in the resevoir of any debris by popping out and replacing. Also, there is an onboard filter under the clear window (where spinner is located) . unscrew clear top , take out spinner device and pull out small plastic screen and rinse or blowout. Clean also the front clear cover if there is debris, by rinsing off with sprayer or wiping clean. You may also find that you have to take off the clear plastic hood window, by unscrewing two screws on either side of nozzle opening (top ) and rinse out as well. Do not, get water under unit into motor area. Place unit upright and in a warm place.. Do not let freeze if in climate that is known to freeze. Good luck cleaning!!

NOTHING WORKS

Check the foam filter on the underside of the recovery tank lid, make sure that it has at least a 1/4 in. gap from the top. There also is a filter, from the bottom, it has a red frame, pull out far enough to clean it.
On the bottom of the tank, depress the vale to make sure water is coming out. With the tank off, squeeze the trigger, is the rod inside the handle pushing up against the diaphram, if it is, there maybe a problem with the reservior asm and will have to be replaced.

when the clean water tank is filled and set in the proper position the water steadily dumps on the floor when i inspected under the unit you can see the white rubber diaphragm approx. 3/4" in diameter exposed and you can see what i assume to be the suction line for the clean water when the handle is pulled it appears that there would have to be another part here some sort of cover or something to assist the diaphragm in holding back the water from dumping out of the tank until the handle is pulled does anyone have any photos of the bottom of the unit or know where i can get this part any thanks is much appreciated Bill

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. There is a valve under the water holding tank that is probably giving you a problem and it is replaceable depending on if it is underneath the water holding tank or directly under the water tank. I am going to give you some phone #’s and websites that you can order parts from or fell free to contact your local vac dealer in your area for service and or parts.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Handle unit came off
Posted by Mcnarymoss on May 26, 2008
Hi. My unit was working fine. Then my wife started using it. She was going back and forth using the Power Drive feature. Now, the entire handle slips off, and the unit is not working correctly at all. Any ideas

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The Bissell 1698 Power Steamer ProHeat Upright has a – let’s call it a power drive rod that has come apart and is no longer working and needs to be re-connected. The best results of the power steamer is that the power steamer works better on the pull back, which means that you dispense the water, the brushes scrub the carpet and the vacuum picks up the water and it goes into the recovery tank – if you go forward use the trigger assm to dispense the water so I t get a chance to soak in but the best results are on the pull back. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hoover Floormate won't dispense clean solution

The tank sits on what is called a reservior asm, that may have gone bad. Does the water flow out of the tank when you push in the valve at the bottom?
