Question about Magellan RoadMate 700 GPS Receiver
When I turn the GPS on I get the welcome screen but the touch screen is very slow and the enter button is very slow to react as well. It is though a button is stuck making contact and doesn't allow the nesxt action to occur. When zooming in or out I will go from the closest view to the furthest view with no stop in between. when the unit is picking up a signal it works fine but it is all the in between items that are frustrating me. I had one estimate that stated I would have to have the touch screen replaced but I am willing to try fixing it myself first.
Kaelor, Yes, that would be my first instinct.. that is if I was in a shop with spare parts lying around.. but I'm guessing your not so... 1st off we are only talking about the touch screen's respones time right? You said the enter button is slow to react as well.. so that makes me think keypad too. If both are reacting well, then try resetting the user data. yes, all of your POI's would be erased if you did this.. so if you can't afford that to happen , then don't do this. 1. At user menu (upon initial boot) 2. press + key and repeat (on top) button 3. select reset user data, then select the verify yes button. 4. unit will reset, post back on here and let me know if this worked.
