Question about Toshiba 32AF43 32" TV

1 Answer

Volume is very low

Hi I have a Toshiba 32AF43 I purchased 4 years ago and the volume is very low. I tried adjusting the volume both by playing with the audio icon on the main and on the tv without success. What can I do? Is this worth fixing?

I mean I tried adjusting the volume on the tv and on the remote control. Also, I have a satellite receiver (Direct TV). Thanks.

The problem has yet to be fixed.

Just a few questions: What do you mean "on the main and on the TV?" Is this hooked up to a surround sound system? Are you using a cable box or satellite receiver? Are you having this problem with all input sources or just on TV channels?

Use the satellite receiver remote control to adjust the volume first. The receiver itself offers volume control and you probably have that turned down. Then you are trying to raise it with the volume control on the TV. This is raising the TV volume, but there isn't much sound there in the first place. Use the receiver remote, and you will probably see a volume bar. At some point it might say something like "best stereo" or a star might appear. If that happens leave the volume set there, otherwise just raise it all the way. Then control the volume with the TV remote, or program the DirecTV remote for your brand of TV, and the volume button should control the TV then.

My toshiba tv will play the picture but no volume

First make sure that the tv is not muted.Internally the sound is separated from the video after the IF circuitry and passes thru filters and audio amplifiers before getting to the speakers. If you are not familiar with circuitry you would need a tv tech to troubleshoot the circuitry.

Hi you just need to right click on the volume icon on start bar and open volume properties and raise the volume via settings.

If that does not help, try updating your sound driver, or a player like vlc.
Good Luck

No sound device on my satellite c650. cant play music

You should have on Board sound "Toshiba Bass Enhanced Sound System". You can check in Control Panel at the speaker icon or, if you have a speaker icon in your taskbar, lower right of your screen, right click on it. A window should come up and you should see "enable" or "disable" . If you see "enable" click on that, and exit. Right click on the icon again and left click on "open sound mixer" and adjust your volume.

How do i get the Audio to work?

  1. Check the volume control located on the front or side of your computer to be sure that it is not set at the lowest level. If the problem is not resolved, proceed to Step 2.
  2. Step 2 Right-click on the "Volume Control" icon located on the Start menu taskbar and then select "Open Volume Control."
  3. Step 3 Remove all checkmarks beside "Mute" in the Master Volume and all other visible categories. If the sound problem is not solved, proceed to Step 4.
  4. Step 4 Right-click on the "Volume Control" icon and select "Adjust Audio Properties."
  5. Step 5 Go to the Volume tab and adjust the "Device Volume" by moving the slider within the range from Low to High.
  6. Step 6 Click on "Speaker Volume" under Speaker Settings and move the slider within the range from Low to High to reset the left and right speaker volume. If the sound problem is not solved, proceed to Step 7.
  7. Step 7 Go to the Hardware tab and highlight the device with the sound issue and then click "Troubleshoot." Follow the prompts until the issue is resolved.

You might be able to adjust the volume further from the control panel.

In windows xp click "start" and then select "control panel" Next click sounds, speach, & audio devices next to a speaker icon. Then click the "sounds and audio devices"

you should be able to adjust the volume there as well as a volume control on the front or side of your laptop.

good luck
