You should be able to do it with the recovery disk that came with the PC, otherwise, you will just have to re-install windows.

I wanna reset my lapoto to factory settings

If you created a recovery disk on your computer you can put that in and restore your system. Sometimes this is also built in when you first turn on your computer and you can just press a button to go into recovery mode.

There are 2 things what can be done.
1. Crack the Administrative password by following the steps in the link below http://www.clazh.com/how-to-hack-or-crack-a-windows-xp-administrator-password/
2. Take the computer back to factory setting which will wipe out all the data on your computer and get your computer back to factory settings by inserting the restore disc

I was just on my ibm t43 and it froze so i manually turned it off now it wont turn back on. it acts like it is going to then it pops up a screen that say an problem has been detected

Hello, Meagan.

Sounds like an operating system problem.

Boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, everything, including your documents and other files you saved on the hard drive, will roll back to that date.

If you can't access System Restore by Safe Mode, try Offline System Restore:
1. Boot from the DVD
2. Select the Language
3. Click on "Repair your Computer" on the Install now screen
4. Click next on the System Recovery Options screen
5. Click on System Restore.
6. Choose the date to which you want to restore

If still a problem, the last choices are Factory Restore and reinstall. Accessing Factory Restore (restores to the factory settings and will wipe out anything that you have installed or saved on your PC), is dependent on your hardware manufacturer. Boot your system and press F10, F11, Alt+F10, or Ctrl+F11 to access Factory Restore. Follow the prompts.

If still not resolved, you'll probably need to reinstall your operating system.

Hope this helps.

T43 kill switch and reload windows info please my computer has been infected with a worm and many trojans it will not llow me to go into control pnel or get to dos to kill it and reinsert the disk to...

At this point i would call your Current Operating system dead. If you can boot into XP and move and documents or pictures you want to keep onto a USB drive. Once this is done, I can not guarintee the files will not be infected but, if you MUST keep some of your files, it is worth a try.

From power off, Boot your T43, pressing the Blue IBM ACCESS button when the screen first turns on. just keep pressing it until the screen turns to Loading IBM Access and recovery. This is a hidden partition on your hard drive, (safe from that pesky worm and trojans) which contains the backup files needed to completely restore your comp to factory default.

In here you will want to select continue to get the initial screen to go away, navigate over to the left hand bar, and one of the options will allow you to completely restore to factory settings, select it, and run through the pop-ups. once you have done this it will take about 40 minutes to run, and boot up with a CLEAN and fresh version of XP, run Windows update and start installing your programs you lost. Best of Luck.

Is there a way to master reset the IBM T43 Thinkpad

No it's not possible to do it with just a button or replace it to factory settings.
The T43 Comes with WinXP or OS/2 Warp or Windows 2000 Pro.
If you wanted to reset it you basically would have to format the harddrive.
You can get a older version of WinXP which is still supported by microsoft or either that you can format it and sell it without a operating system.
Or you can add/remove items you installed and remove personal info delete pretty items much within windows itself.

3 volume buttons on keyboard

U may have a software problem & u may have to remove and REstore the drivers for the[keyboadr] button\volume control.

Did u get a RESTORE disk\CD for your t43 pc?

2nd) your keyboard maybe dirty and may need cleaning.

they sell a small vaccum cleaner with a small brush attached to the 'sucky' part.

If not use a " smoking Pipe cleaner " [looks like the ties that keep bread from coming out of the plastic bag] but with soft material around the entire length.soke with lighter fulid,Stick the "pipe cleaner" inbetween the keypads on the keyboard . make sure that u AIR FAN the keyboard  V E R Y   G O O D   AND MAKE SURE THAT THE power is off before u do this.
