Question about Pioneer TS-W3004SPL Premier 12" SPL Component Subwoofer with 3000 Watts Max. Power Car Speaker

1 Answer

Premier sub used to work great ... now nothing

Ok, i have a Premier TS3004 12" hooked up to a MA Audio HK898 w/ 1 farad cap. the amp had no problem whatsoever pushing the 12. last week, i noticed the bass was not as loud as it used to be (i also have 2 10's powered with a seperate amp). poped the trunk and found the 12 not doing a damn thing. I've checked voltage on the amp, has power, no faulty ground. took the sub out of the box and it seems the connections are ok. the voltmeter goes from 0.00 to 0000.00 when a signal is sent to the 10's and the 12. wtf is going on with my subwoofer. i set the 12 on a 4ohm load and my amp gets up to 600rms@4ohm, so there's no problem there. but absolutely no sound is coming out of the sub!! somebody have any idea what is going on with this??????

Did you check to make sure that you didn't blow a channel in the amp? Another thing to check would be the connection on the inside of your box, maybe there is just a wire loose.

I have 2 MA AudioMA100XE 600 watt woofers and a 1500watt monoblock amp hooked up to them now. they dont hit as hard as my old 800 watt ma audio amp that blew. why is that?

mono block anps are usually rated at lower impedance.
if your subs are dual 4 ohm , i'd wire all v/cs in parallel for a 1ohm load... unless the amp is all chromed up, than that rating is probably a WLS rating(when lightning strikes)... if the box says anaba group it typically does half of what it advertises.. :-(

I have 2 sony xplod 4ohm subs rated 350w rms and 1200w max, i have them in really shallow boxes because i drive a single cab toyota, i know these subs **** but i do also know that they can hit alot harder...

the premier amp is better since it has a better rms rating (360w total or 160w each sub) than the eclipse (280w if you bridge all 4 channels which isn't possible but 140w for each speaker bridging 2 channels per speaker). Neither are going to push your subs but if you get another amp wiring kit and use one amp per sub they will sound a lot better and you could just hook both power wire and ground wires from the bridged channels to the power and ground terminals for the sub. That would be my suggestion since the subs are rated at 350w and each amp is 280w and 320w which will push but not blow the subs.

I hooked up my two 10 inch JL Audio W3v2 2 ohms to a mono JL Audio 500.1 amp and the subs will not work. I have the subs wired in a series. I then hooked them up to my friends amp and the subs worked. Any...

try one at a time. if they work then try hooking them up differently. if none work, then check to see that your amp is not in protect mode. if amp is ok, then check to make sure you have your rcas connected to your amp. in other words, re-check all your wiring. if still nothing, try your amp on your friends car and vise versa.

Hay i just brought da sub on its own and dont no wat a good size amp and power needed to make dat bumpn bumpn feel...and how to connect it all up plezzzz.... fnx DJ KINGXL out

buy a bridged amp with half the power of your sub (ie 1200 watt sub use a 600 watt amp) this will stop distortion at high volume get in touch when you have the amp and i'll go through how to wire it .

that subwoofer has dual 4ohm voice coils, if your amp can handle 2 ohms, you would put a wire from the positive (+) on the amp to the positive on both connectors on the sub, then hook the negative (-) on the amp to the negative on both the sub connectors that will be a 2 ohm load on your amp make sure your amp at 2 ohms is not more than 600 watts RMS or 1200 max.

Make sure that you have the subs wired in a 4-ohm series and not a 8-ohm load
