I took my camera apart, and cleaned all contacts including battery posts and contacts for battery in camera. when removing the flexible ribbons take note that some have 2 wedges on either side of the connecters, which must be gently prised away from the conection in order to free the ribbon. the lcd screen (if i remember correctely) has a black tab running the length of the connecter, and this gets prised up to free the lcd screen--FOR CLEANING, I RUBBED EACH CONNECTION WITH A PINK PEARL PENCIL TYPE ERASER. CAMERA NOW WORKS GOODY GOODY.

How to take a picture

Most cameras have a 2-stage button. You press it down until you feel some resistance, but not all the way. You camera should auto-focus while you hold the button at that level. When the camera has focused, it will indicate that by beeping or showing a green light or both. Then you finishing pressing the button the rest of the way down and it will take a picture.

Camera Stuck with lens out. Beeps

I dropped the camera on the table a couple of times, twisted the front of it. Suddenly the lens retracted into the camera, the beeping quit, and now I can take pictures again. The Samsung website is horrible.

Olympus 850sw- write protect and picture error

Sounds as if the memory card has corrupted data on it now. You will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup Menu - right arrow to Format- Press Ok. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect and picture error messages and the card can be used again.

Beeps repeatedly, lense won't retract...won't take pictures?

Hi Jeanice21, I just posted the same problem a few minutes ago with my SD400. I followed a few steps of the suggested solutions and here's what worked for me.

1) take apart the front and back by unscrewing the six screws holding the camera together
2) on the left of the flash, there are two little retangular holes with grooved dials in them
3) using a little flat head screwdriver, push up or down to turn the grooves while power up in the movie or capture mode
4) the lens retracted at this point and my camera started working again. Good luck!

Just a quicky, this happened to me whilst in warranty and it required a replacement PCB (printed circuit board). Sorry for the bad news

Outdoor pictures reveal white on LCD screen

The sensor for the auto-ISO may be working incorrectly. Try changing the ISO manually for different light modes. You can also try to change the white balance of the LCD. -Setting the white balance: 1. Set the camera to still image mode 2. Press the "Set" button 3. "White Balance" should be the current selection 4. Press the "Flower" button or "Flash" button to move through the available options for white balance 5. Press "Set" again when change appropriately - Setting the ISO: The higher the ISO value, the less light the camera needs to make an exposure, allowing the same exposure to be achieved with higher shutter speeds or smaller apertures. In a digital camera, higher ISO value allows higher shutter speed, at the expense of mottled or grain appearing in the final picture. 1. Set the camera to Still Image mode. 2. Press the "Set" button. 3. Press the "scn" or "timer" button to select ?ISO?. 4. Press the "Flower" or "Flash" button to select the desired setting. 5. Press the "set" button to select. 50/100/200 In the same lighting condition, the higher the ISO value is, the faster the shutter speed will be. I hope this helps.

Tab on the camera. E18 is a stuck lens. This is common on this camera. I'm not saying this will fix it, but don't break it.
