Question about Sony NW-E405 MP3 Player
Hi , I dont really know if this is one problem or many problems. I have sony mp3 player (1G). when i use it as a USB to save some files it doesnt allow me to open it, instead it shows strange letters (and in some PCs it displays a warning about some trojan svc.exe), i tried to scan it and the scan result was clear. this is the first problem. The second problem is that i have formatted it using FAT32 at the begining, then i used the FAT system to format it (note that im using win XP with sp2). When i turn it on it displays an error (FORMAT ERROR). my question is how to get rid off the virus if its there ? and, how to get rid off the format error, do i need any third party utility to format ?? Thank you in advance.
Same here I have Sony NWZ B-133F and it had format error after i plugged it on DVD player with USB. There's no way I can format it on any PC.
My solution is that I go to device manager and install/update the driver>browse computer for driver software>let me pick from a list of device>choose removable drive not the MTP. then it will show on your explorer, hence u can format it now using Fat16 or default settings.

Hey this is not complete solution :::::::::::
i have the same problem again in another sony mp3 player
but before 7 months i solved this problem using sonicstage 3.4 help menu.
in that menu some instructions are there for formatting the sony device.
the instructions are not with pc these are using our mp3 player or walkmen keys, play/stop/menu/next & previous buttons using these buttons i was formatted my sony device.but i forgot the order of using this keys if u have any body have sonic stage 3.4 see the help menu in (trobleshooting) present in the net 3.4 version not available u can try.
in press the keys in order i.e next/previous/menu orderly the device menu shows an hided menu in that format option is there. we can select format option to format it now.
i am also try to find it so all of you try please.
