Operating System Hi FolksI bought a gateway laptop m-6843 note book pc sn T4A85R1009615 AND IT GO A VIRUS FROM I GUESS INTERNET EXPLORER OR SOME OTHER SOURCE BUT IT WAS NOT RESPONDING TO ANY THING SO I INSTALLED THE OPERATING SYSTEM DISK THAT WAS PROVIDED WITH THE COMPUTER AND I THOUGHT IT WOULD BRING IT BACK LIKE IT WAS THE DAY I BOUGHT IT IT DID NOT NOW THE SCREEN IS ALL DISTORTED AND IT DOES NOT WORK THE WAY IT DID AT ALL I CALLED BEST BUY AND THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO CONTACT GATE WAY FOR ASSISTANCE TO GET A RESTORE DISK WITH THE DRIVERS AND APPLICATIONS HOW DO I GET THIS PLEASE ADVISE I CANNOT DOWN LOAD ANY THING FROM THIS COMPUTER IT IS RUNNING TOO SLOW REALLY FRUSTRATED THANK YOU VERY MUCH MAC

Try to start you computer in safe mode by following http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm
Then, try to find and install the drivers of your graphics card form gateway website or from the card manufacturer.

Gateway Laptod Model No M360


First you will need to register at gateway, I took the serial number you provided and gateway has no record of it, once you register it, you should be able to purchase the recovery disks. I'm including the link:
https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=gateway&sn=0000000000 you need to register in order for this link to work, that serial number has to be in gateways system, once it is you can order recovery media. Hope this helps

Explorer.exe uses all available CPU


Norton anti-virus is a resource HOG. Disable it from running at start-up. It may be trying to download updates as the pc is booting. Use AVG anti virus, it is free and works very well.

Problem regarding internet explorer 6.0


k try this delete all temp files and cookies and restore the inter net explorer
to delete cookies and files follow this
open i-explorer ->in top->click tool->inter net options->general->delete temp files,cookies,clear history>
to restore the i-explorer follow this
open i-explorer ->in top->click tool->inter net options->click on advance ->in bottom click on restore default
and reboot the pc>if still the same issue then try with different browser
