Question about Norelco Advantage 5615 X Electric Shaver
I've had my advantage for maybe 10 years. I have never replaced the heads or oiled anything. I just take the head apart and clean it periodically. About a year ago, I started having trouble getting it to cut. Now I need to go over my face again with a straight razor some days. Should I replace the heads? Then a few months ago I noticed it was having trouble maintaining a charge for more than a couple of days. Now I'm lucky if it holds a charge for more than a day. I keep it plugged in all the time now.
Heads for your model are no longer available. Shaver will not hold a charge because batteries need replaced. Batteries can be replaced but soldering is required. If you have cleaned it well and it does not cut, I suggest getting a new shaver.

I have been able to reset the replace head light on my 8894xl shaver by do the following: Step 1 - Fully charge and clean shaver Step 2 - Turn on shaver holding down on button until shaver display recycles from 0 to xxx minutes. Step 3 - Turn shaver off Step 4 - Turn on shaver again and hold down button until shaver beeps ONCE. (Light will go off)

The head assembly (the part that flips up) for your model 7775X shaver si comprised of three components; the heads, the head holder and the retainer. These are always sold seperately and you can find them available at shaveroutlet.com. See links below.

You are certainly not th first person who hasn't been happy with the Arcitec model. If it never worked well for you from the beginning, there is nothing that will make it work now. It's a shame that you've waited past the 45 day return period.
Your old shaver, 6885XL, was a "Quadra" model. These were a popular model type that is now discontinued. If you still have it, it may be able to be repaired. If you would like to replace it with another Quadr model, you will find one at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

It is advised that you change the batteries when you realize that they are no longer charging properly. Most likely, only the batteries need to be changed but it is possible that you have caused further damage due to leaving it plugged in continuously and the batteries may hae become corroded or leaked.
