I'm getting an electric shock when i touch the door

If i don't have on shoes i get a shock from touching the door of the freezer side of my Kitchenaid refrigerator. The wall receptacle is working fine. There is no water in the condensation reservoir underneath.
What would be the likely case and how do i search for the problem and fix it?
Thanks,
Andre Simons

I have a similar problem. I haven't fixed it. My hunch is that there is a short in a motor, since the ice dispensor is broken too.

I similarly have gotten a shock from the freezer door of my side by side KitchenAid. Additionally, the ice dispenser is not working. I suspect (with no proof) a motor with a short.

Somehow the door is charged with electrity and when you have shoes on your insulated, meaning that your not a place for the electricity to travel thru, but when you take away the shoes the electricity can go thru you to the floor and so on. Solution to your problem, get a repairman to come check on it before you hurt yourself.

My kitchenaid side by side, he freezer door shock me. The icemaker works fine and the receptacle ground is secure.

Before you are electrocuted, unplug this and have a person skilled with electricity test it. You may have a broken wire somewhere, water in an area where only electricity should be, or who knows what.
Be blessed.

The jamb between the freezer & frig is very

It is common to be warm to the touch. If it is excessively hot then your door heater may be going out. Have a technician check it out. If this fails the doors will begin to sweat and drip onto the floor. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I would buy a tester and check the wall receptacle to make sure the ground is right, they are like 5 dollars. Then yes you have a loose ground somewhere check the compressor first .

KitchenAid KSBP25FKSS Side by Side Refrigerator Ice & water dispenser ondoor not working

I had the same problem and had to have the entire door replaced. I thought it was a random thing since sometimes it would just start working again, but finally it just stopped for good. The wires that
are below the door on the left hand side (you can see them better when the lower front piece is removed) were severed and they can't be put back together without replacing the door. My repair guy (the refrig. was still under warranty) told me it was a design or installation defect and that he has seen it time and again. Evidently, when they install the wiring, they don't leave enough room to stuff the wires out of the way of the closing door and eventually, it severs them over time.

No water dispensing to the icemaker. Water does dispense through the door dispenser. KitchenAid ksbs25fkbl00

Unplug your refrigerator and leave the freezer door open for 2 hours (The food in the freezer will only partially thaw).

The line supplying the water to the ice maker has frozen...this will un-thaw it.
