Question about Reddy Heater-40,000 BTU Kerosene w/T'stat

2 Answers

Hi, I have two Reddy propane heaters that are suddenly on the blink. One (a Reddy RCP80V) has spark and fires up. The problem though is that after initial start of the heater flames shot out of the control valve area burning the control knob. My guess is that the tube assembly has a leak. Can I find a replacement part for this if this is the problem? The second heater is the ReddyRCP30. I have spark but no gas flow no matter how slowly I turn the tank on. Any help on these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John

Reddy heater 75 125000 propane heater. Fan comes on, have spark, smell propane and still won't fire

There are couple possible reasons your unit refuses to fire; some units tjis big have to be level, this is a saftey feature bulit in if it is not level, it will not fire, ( it believes it has been tipped over), the smell of propane could also mean it has a leak on your line connection ( bad fitting, not sealed properly), finally check the temperature sensor may be bad and need replacing......

My reddy heater pro 100 wont stay lit when i let go of the trigger ive replaced the propane tank

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assist you. First thing to do is go to the furnace and look in the small peep hole in the lower blower door and see if there is an led light that is flashing a certain number of blinks record the number and look for a diagnostic chart on the inside of the blower door or the upper side panel of the furnace if there is no flash code present you can try resetting the power to the furnace and see if the furnace will fire up.

Reddy heater 35

no fuse per se, but mounted on the round plate where the burner nozzle is and slightly to the upper right is an overload device with two red or white wires coming out of it. those two wires connect to two stab connectors on the capillary tube. you can try by jumping out those two stabs to see if the heater will fire up. if it does, then go to www dot desatech dot com and purchase a new overload. check for a good ground between the spark plug body and the machine metal part.
