After hours of research I finally fixed the problem, the reason it was not working was because there was more then 1000 images on my memory card once I deleted them it works fine again.

Other choice could be using a external memory card reader and connected then to the pc as external device.

Goos luck.

If you are using the camera software then remove it and Windows do the Work. If are sill having trouble, Then invest in a USB card reader.

SOURCE: Busy message keeps flashing...wont upload photos

I posted with the same problem. I was reading the software guide that came with my camera. I ended up going to the menu on the camera and setting the camera's communication. It worked! I can now upload my pictures to my computer again.

SOURCE: Canon power shot won't upload pics. "Cannot connect to device."

It's very hard to troubleshoot software problems online, and it likely is a software issue. But why put up with the headaches of bad software in the first place? Please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of a card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:

SOURCE: My computer will not detect my camera when connected.

Suggest with the camera disconnected from the computer, you uninstall, then reinstall the Canon software. (Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, or Start>All Programs>Canon>Uninstall) Windows is a 'funny animal', and drivers need to be occasionally reinstalled.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

When i put my sd card in the computer to download pics, my computer is not recognize it, what can i do to fix it

Hello,

If the phone refuses to read the memory card, it is due to the fact that, the format of the memory card is not supported by the laptop.

In order for you to read the files of the memory card on the laptop, try to use a memory card external slot that uses the usb cable to connect to the laptop.

You can fix the memory card into phone, and connect the phone the computer through the usb cable.

Read the files through the phone and you will be able todownload your pictures.

Take care

Don't know how to download my pics or videos on the coputer

There are two way to upload your picture's or video's to your pc:

  1. You can upload video to the use of your camcorder connector. Connect your USB cable to your camcorder and plug it to your computer. You need to turn on your camcorder so that it will be recognized by the computer.
  2. You can upload also your video's with the use of memory card reader. Remove your memory card from your camcorder and insert it to the card reader. Plug the card reader to the computer. The computer will recognized the card. Now you can upload your photo's or video's.
Good luck!

Memory card showing 'no image' after trying to upload

Sounds like you didn't use the "safely remove hardware" function when you disconnected the USB cable. This can corrupt the card and even the camera. You could try using a separate card reader to download the pics from the card. If that works, and the pics are safely downloaded, then you should format the card in the camera to erase and optimize it. If it doesn't work, take the card to a Walmart that has a Kodak Picture Kiosk and it should be able to read your card. You can print the pics or even make a cd of them. Then, format the card in the camera.

Wont upload pics

I tend to NOT use the cables that come with my cameras. They are slow, and often incompatible with whatever operating system or other software you have online.

I would simply take out the camera's memory card (XD or SD or whatever it may be,) and buy a $10 USB card reader for that chip format. It's faster, simpler, better, and you don't have to deal with the camera's proprietary software. Hope this helps!
