Push center and menu buttons as you keep it connected to the computer charger. That will hard reset the ipod. If it doesn't respond to the hard reset it is more likely you have motherboard issue. You can try to open it and clean the corroded parts on the logic board. If that doesn't help, there are parts available on ebay, there is a ipod repair guide that will show you how to open your ipod replace the logic board.

Ya it's done.. Ipods are not water proof to any extent of the imagination. Unfortunately it looks like you'll have to get a new one. THe repair cost on that will exceed the cost of replacement since you'll have to pay for labour. Also water damage is not covered under the apple warranty.
