Question about Toshiba Satellite A135 Notebook

1 Answer

Issue with a Satellite P105: Battery is fully charged (new Charger), when power button is pressed, the power led flashes one time then nothing. I changed the PB sensor board, the mother board and cpu and still have the same problem. This problem occurs with or without the battery in the laptop.

I changed that twice with both a new and used power board, to no avail.

It seems that you spend already a lot of time on this Laptop. Is it really worth?

Unplug the hard drive, RAM, Wireless, DVD player, screen, keypad, mousepad,

When you try to start like that you should ear the alarm.

YES, good sign, it’s working so far

No, Try to measure the power coming out from the power board, with and without power cord.

    YES, then:

Try to measure if you get some power on the motherboard (condensator are easy), but be carefully, NOT DIRECTLY ON THE CPU follow the wiring to be sure.

If it seems powered, then plug one element at a time and start, you might find the element ho short cut the mother board

First Keypad, RAM, mouse pad, screen, DVD , and wireless

    Good luck

You mentioned that it won't turn on with the charger (without the battery). Does this mean that it turns on if the battery is in?

If it turns on with the battery, then you need to replace your AC adapter.

I doubt there is battery problem, have you tried switching on laptop without battery and connecting through the laptop charger? most probable your battery is not taking the charge. so suggest you to disconnect the battery and try using laptop with charger then you'll find the problem.

I shut down the laptop at once and i turned it on immediately.so only power light is on and the computer is not working.only black screen is seen.

Try this :

1. unplug the ac adapter and remove the battery .
2. press and hold power button for a minute
3. now put the battery back and plug in ac adapter
4. turn on the laptop now

it should work.

if not, try removing hard drive and memory modules then reinstall them back.

if the issue persists, your motherbord has gone bad.

If you have another power charger try it. It can only be one of two things. Bad charger or bad battery. Most likely the battery will need replaced

Toshiba P105-S6004 Laptop will not charge battery

Motherboard repairs are often poorly done and they are expensive except for the simplest jobs like replacing the DC jack. And new motherboards are also generally very expensive. And cheap way out of this is buying a used battery charger or a used working motherboard. eBay is usually the best place to start. Good luck!

Larry,

  1. Unplug the laptop and remove the battery.
  2. Press the power button down and hold for 10 to 15 seconds.
  3. Press the power button 5 more times quickly.
  4. Plug the power back into the laptop without the battery and press the power button.
If the laptop powers on just put the battery back in.
