If the disc came from Wal-Mart(or any other company), or was made by any other method than you burning the disc yourself on a DVD-R or RW+- then it will not play them. They are setup with thier own photoshop type programs and for use on your home compputer only. I suggest you save them to your home computer. Then burn them to a disc in JPEG format and then they will play on you player!

What you are describing is a bad/damaged optical unit in the player--some are sold but only as a complete unit.

Samsung hr577a My DVD player WILL play 'burned' discs but rejects pre-recorded discs stating that the disc cannot be read or recorded to. Can you help

Possible that the player is region locked and so does not play discs from other format or mass recorded type.
You need to check with standard legal discs to see if this works , is so the player must be unlocked.
Please take an opinion from the dealership who sold this unit to confirm if this is covered under warranty.

My rca mobile dvd player is saying no disk or playing the start of a movie then freezing

its either the dvd lens is burnt out or dirty or the disc you are trying to play is dirty or damage try to clean the disc with a clean cloth wiping it outward in one direction, if you already tried other disc or tried the same disc on other players and it works it might be the lens. try to get a dvd lens cleaner if that did not work you might need to re-align the lens or replace it.
hope that helps. please rate

My panasonic DVD-CV51 disc player won't eject or play a disc. There is only one disc in. The player just continuously opens and closes the drawer and cycles thru the each disc location. Have left off for...

Before to apply BFH method as it is final and ultimate fix for these things, unplug unit from wall socket, take off top cover of DVD-CV51and clean optical lens with good quality cotton swab gently and check DVD-CV51 as dirty/ clogged optical lens does not read one disc and player go for next disc to read it and gives up after trying all discs.
Hope this info will solve your dvd player problem.

DVD will not come out

Believe it or not, unplug the power from the wall for at least 60 seconds. Then plug back in and power up the unit and eject the DVD. Sometimes you need to do this 3 times before it works. My complaint is that I need to do this for 95% of the DVD's I insert and then try to eject. This is clearly a manufacturer's defect...

Built-in DVD player

Are you trying to play DVD's you've made or copied yourself or new one's you buy from an actual distributor? Because sometimes self-ripped Cd's & DVD's won't play on a LOT of DVD players. Otherwise it's bad DVD player and you should go get it swapped out if it's not too late.
