If the computer charges it then the computer recognizes it as a connected device. That's how usb works. It could be you need a new USB cable. Many devices that use USB for charging do not have the data leads connected in their cables. This is called a "vampire" connection as it only sucks 5 volts DC from the computer/charger .
Click on Computer or My computer on your desktop and it should be one of the removable drives there. Click on that then look for the music and/or pictures folder and go in there and delete what you don't want. Putting new stuff in is as easy as dragging and dropping from one folder on your computer to a folder on your H10. No software needed as it is just like a flash drive that hooks up to a usb port.
You can use media player to convert most sound files to MP3's, but if you are downloading MP3 files you can copy straight in to your player's music folder and play the files. Does your player hook up to the computer as a "portable device" or as a removable drive? If it hooks up as a removable drive you are set to go with copy and paste. If it hooks up as portable device you need to check in the players settings and look for USB settings and see if you can set it for MSC mode. repost if need more info. How To Download MP3's To My Player. When you dropped it, the batter became loose from the contacts inside, therefore it doesnt charge, but lights up when you connect it to the computer.
Remove the 4 screws on the back, then take out the battery and then press it in firmly. Charge the device for about 2 hours.

Hmm that happened to me, and then mine stopped working, but don't worry I don't think the clicking sound casued it to stop working. Have you dropped it? I dropped mine a few to many times, and then the harddrive stopped working :(
