SOURCE: Disc is not working. Error message No disc

Try cleaning both the disk and the lens of the dvd player. Sometimes even a little bit of dust can make your dvd player go ballistic. Brands like Sony,Philips and LG are very sensitive. If anything else fails, you can take it to a repair shop to find out if the lens isn't cracked or the LED isn't responding while trying to read the disk.

Toshiba 7300 wont play the movie Deadpool. will play the initial 20 century fox intro and just keeps repeating that never going to the menu. cant ff or anything. have tried 3 different disk of this

If the unit does the same with other movies then it's probably either got something wrong with the carriage unit the lazer sits on not moving along as the film plays. Or there is something wrong with the lazer itself.
My thoughts is that the lazer reading the disc runs on a track with teeth. And that part of the track has broken teeth, or that there is something blocking the lazer unit moving along it.
If it is just the film Deadpool then the only thing that I can think of is that you have some kind of parental lock that stops the movie being shown set on your player.

My sound on my laptop works fine but when i try to play a movie on it the sound is messed up but the movie plays fine whats wrong with it?

It could be a potentially corrupted movie file or disc. If it is a disc, examine it near a light source to check for scratches; also, consider testing it in a DVD player of some kind, and determine if the audio problem persists. Otherwise, if it is a file, try using another program to play it, or find another copy. If the audio problem persists for all movies, consider changing the program.

I can't play a movie

What kind of console do you have?

And what kind of disc do you have?

If it's a PS3 it can play regular DVDs and BluRay discs.

If you have an XBOX 360 you should be able to play movies on DVDs or HD DVD.

If you have a Nintendo Wii then it can't play any kind of movie unless you unlock (mod) it. Use a guide to do that like this one.

When playing DVD movies, after watching about 75% of the movie, the video and audio are choppy and distorted. I have attempted to play various DVD's, same issue.

Hi, the problems here can be caused by a couple of things. Assuming you have tried playing a couple of DVD's back to back, it sounds like there is runout on the disc (wobble) which is preventing the pickup from tracking the outer edge of the disc.
it sounds like there may be a particle stuck to the spindle table(the round table that the disc sits upon). You may need to remove the disc clamp to gain access to it - just run your finger lightly around the top edge of it to clear it - don't be tempted to touch or look into the laser pickup - you can be permanently blinded.
