Same problem, except I refit the cpu fan plug into the board, and fan kicked on... Power seems to stay on, but nothing happens. Monitor doesn't come on, and the cpu heatsink isn't even getting warm to the touch. I pulled ram, and no beeps were issued. (yes pc speaker is plugged in). This happened after a routine cleaning, which I've done a thousand times before on this and other pc's. First time this has ever happened to me. Thanks in advance.

Good day!

I have the same asus motherboards I check first the memory if it is clean next is battery. Try to check also the unit if it is clean.
Secondly, after doing my first suggestions if it doesn't work try to check your processor maybe the lock 4 sides are not mounted properly. resulting to sudden turning off. or sometimes electric current disturbance.
Third, Ty to check your Hard disk drive ( HDD) may be the cable connection has he problem. If you use sata try ti clean the plugs. For the IDE you may use cleaning procedures too.

Thanks,

jonags

Gateway memory

HOLD del key even before you start your computer, then you start your computer.
If that doesn't help, open your computer and clear CMOS on motherboard, find jumper called clear cmos, but first un-plug Power or turn it off (put switch to 0), then put jumper in clear CMOS for couple of seconds, then try turning it on, ..

If one slot doesn't work, I suggest you try free program: memtest86 ! IT will show you if you have slot or memory problem.

If none from above helps, put one memory out, then try, then put another in, and other out and try.

Hope it helps.

M4A785TD-M EVO Motherboard will not boot.

Hi

From what you are descrbing it sounds like a PSU issue

Please try the following

1) Remove all the wires from the PC
2) Press and hold the power button in for about 10 seconds (yes i know there is no power :) )
3) Plug everything back in and retry, if it still fails the Power supply will need to be changed

The Power supply can be swapped out at any decent PC repair shop and is quite cheap to do

I hope this helps

Dear Sir: We are here to help you and make able to fix your computer, however, we will need certain information, so we may proceed helping you: (1) The manufacturer of the Computer and/or the Computer Trade Name; (2) The Model Name and Number; (3) The Motherboard Identification Number. If you have trouble finding it, we can help you! (4) A detailed "report" of what happened. Please tell us what has happened so far. The light flashing is an indication of a problem, but we need a little more, like what happened before. Did you have your laptop out for repairs and a day after it stopped working? We need every detail you can give us, starting from the first signs, especially if you had someone else work on it. You said that after a day the computer does work. How did it stop working? Did it ever work on the second day? It has been many times, that a problem that you consider unimportant can be the solution to your problem! Also, after you had the second failure, did you turn your computer off, wait 20 seconds and then turn it back on. Sometimes one digit hangs up and it requires a re-start. Thank you for considering our service and the choice you made... CONSTANTIN (arzconst)

It looks like your HDD or ROM has problem. Mostly your Hard Disk must have failed.

How to reset Asus PC-DL Deluxe BIOS

Remove the Lithium Flat Battery from the motherboard, then start the machine. Let it run for about 5-10 seconds and then turn it off and put the battery back in.

Some motherboards when you try to power it up without the battery, will not turn on. Press the power button 2-3 times and then place the battery back in and it should achieve the same results.

Problem regarding booting

due to the increase in temperature inside the cpu for the protection of the motherboard and components it might not be getting started ..

this happens if the processor fan is not running properly or if it stucked due to some dust or obstacles ...

try cleaning it after separating heat sink and processor ....

after refitting the processor trying booting it should work ....

if needed replace the processor fan ..

My pc is not turning on Asus p5vd2-mx se

what kind of computer is it? how old is it? have you added, removed or changed hardware recently? have there been any power spikes, outages or surges lately while the computer was running? lastly are the voltage settings 120V/240V on the power supply set correctly? it sounds like the power supply is dead from what i've read but i can't be sure because there are many reasons this could be happening, i.e. the processor gets too hot while the system is trying to start and the computer shuts down to prevent damage to it, also have you tried plugin the system into another wall outlet or socket on your power strip? if no hardware has been add, removed or changed. you can start with a power supply but if after that it still won't power up there's a deeper cause to look for!

hope this helps

OVERCLOCKING

Hi, On other motherboard models of Asus, similar problem was corrected by: 1. Updating the BIOS; 2. Actually overclocking the FSB to slightly higher than default (say 170 or 175 from 166, 140 to 150 from 133); 3. Slightly increasing the default processor voltage supply by increments of 0.05; 4. Replacing the 3.0 volts Lithium battery; 5. Replacing the memory to next higher speed; Never had problems like this with MSI, ECS or Intel boards. Hope this be of some idea/help. Post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
