Same problem, except I refit the cpu fan plug into the board, and fan kicked on... Power seems to stay on, but nothing happens. Monitor doesn't come on, and the cpu heatsink isn't even getting warm to the touch. I pulled ram, and no beeps were issued. (yes pc speaker is plugged in). This happened after a routine cleaning, which I've done a thousand times before on this and other pc's. First time this has ever happened to me. Thanks in advance.

Good day!

I have the same asus motherboards I check first the memory if it is clean next is battery. Try to check also the unit if it is clean.
Secondly, after doing my first suggestions if it doesn't work try to check your processor maybe the lock 4 sides are not mounted properly. resulting to sudden turning off. or sometimes electric current disturbance.
Third, Ty to check your Hard disk drive ( HDD) may be the cable connection has he problem. If you use sata try ti clean the plugs. For the IDE you may use cleaning procedures too.

Thanks,

jonags

Hi,

This may cause by an electrical charge in the motherboard itself,Im not really sure how it affects the display of the computer. There's also a possibility that the problem is with the LCD cable or the LCD itself. Please follow this method since it usually fix such problem like that,

1.Removed the battery then unplugged the AC adapter

2.Press and hold the power button or the ON/OFF button for at least 30 seconds

3.Connect the power supply back to your computer then turn it back on.

4. Check if you will see any difference.

5. If nothing happens, try to press and hold Fn and F2 on the keyboard.

If nothing happens, there is a possibility that the problem is with the LCD or monitor itself, maybe it will need a replacement...

Problem may be a simle matter of the battery contacts needing to be adjusted so they make better contact for charging and use. Use a needle and ~GENTLY~ raise contact bars on either laptop or battery.

Hi Friend, As you have mentioned that your system goes off after 5-10 seconds and turns on again. I would recommend you to please unplug all the cables from the desktop and press and hold the power button of the system for 30 seconds, release it after 30 seconds and make the connections again.
Start your system again and check if your issue is fixed or not.
Also I would like you to check after turning on the system do you get any beeps from the system after which it goes off

Hi there,

Black screen is often caused by a defective screen. The easiest way to determine if you have a hardware or software problem is by performing a power drain. Please follow the steps below for additional instructions.

Power Drain:
1. Turn off the computer.

2. Unplug the AC adapter from the power outlet and take out the battery from the system.

3. Now, press the power button for about 15-20 seconds.

4. Put back the battery in and plug the AC adapter.

5. Turn on the system and try observing it.
--> If power drain did not work, you need to consult a repairman to have your screen be checked for possible damage.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Can't start and also stop my lenovo sl400 after running of battery power. Please help

Hi lim_bunly, try to isolate the problem by removing the battery from the pc and use only the power adapter to turn on the pc. If it work, then turn off again the pc and remove the power adapter and push the power button for 5 seconds and insert the battery only if it work. If it doesnt then there is a battery problem, you can call their tech support hotline 1-800-426-7378 to check the battery.

Hope this helps....

remove battery, press and hold power button for 5 seconds, then wait 5 minutes, put battery back in securely and try again. If it powers on, try and look at the power meter to see if it is registering the power supply. You could have faulty memory chip or faulty power supply
