Click my printer icon, then go to printer settings, click maintenance tab and then click "ink cartridge settings". Then select "black only" and click ok and only black cartridge will be used for printing.

How can i get my Canon Pixma MX310 to print black only?

There are many ways to printer in black and white only. Follow either steps;
1. Open the document you want to print > Go to file > Print > click properties in the print window > there in the 'main' menu you will see an option "Grayscale Printing" check / tick the option to activate > click OK > now take a black and white print.
2. Open the document you want to print > Go to file > Print > click properties in the print window > in the menu select 'Maintenance' > in the 'Maintenance' click 'Ink Cartridge Settings' > select Black Only > click OK > click OK > now you can print only using the black ink in the printer.
Hope this helps.

I installed the latest driver, and now whenever a user tries to print in grayscale, it prints black pages with white text

Kindly check the printer settings and preferences. Maybe it was set to grayscale, afterwards, try to do a print alignment and last resort is check toner if it's clean. Try to wipe with paper towel and do the printer test. Hope it may fix your problem :)

It only prints black and white

Somebody must have followed the instructions:

Print Only in Black and White:
• Click Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes.
• Left click on Laser to highlight.
• Click File > Printing Preferences.
• Click on the Color tab.
• Click on the circle by Grayscale to move the bullet to that selection.
• Click Apply and OK.

to switch from "colour" printing to "black".

So, "unclick" the 'Grayscale' setting.

Just go to "Control Panel" double click "Printers" and right-clicking your printer model to show "Printing Preferences..." and select "Printing Preferences..."

On the "Main" tab of "Printing Preferences" window, uncheck the "Grayscale Printing" radio button.

Hope it helps.

In the printing preferences you need to select Black and white.

1. open the document you want to print
2. click file
3. click print
4. select printer from list, then click on preferences
5. look around the pages.

In Color tab I found a print in Grayscale - this setting will print the document in black and white colors, the pages may be diffrent on diffrent printers. look for black and white setting or Grayscale.
