The right channel in my TEAC AG-550 receiver won't work unless the volume is cranked up really high. Then it pops in for a while. Can this be fixed myself or will I have to scrap the unit?

Hi, Yes you can fix it yourself, Turn off the system and unplug from the wall, spraying a little WD40 inside bitween the knob and the recess, using the extension tube that comes with the WD40, turning the knob back and forth while doing so, don`t worry WD40 is not a conductor. Plug it in and try it out after you are done, then tell me how beautiful it sounds.

Center speaker is dead or what it can be on my Technics SA-dx930.

More than like, the center channel is turned off on your receiver. Please see page 16 of the manual, which is located here:
http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SADX930.PDF

The manual says to do this:
Turn on the receiver.
Press Speaker A and B button at the same time.
The word Setting appears then changes to Front
Press A to select Center
Press B to choose Large, Small or None for your center speaker.
After choosing Large or Small, press A again till you see Complete on the screen.

If this helps, please rate my response.

1974 FENDER TWIN REVERB HAS NRE TUBES NEW FILTER CAPS AND WAS REPAIRED BY RETIRED AUTHORIZED FENDER TECH. PROBLEM AMP HAS VETY LOW OUTPUT UNTIL YOU CRANK IT TO 8-10 THEN IT SOUNDS HORRIBLE DISTORTED AND...

This sounds like a power supply problem. The high voltage for the tubes is not right. Either you are missing an amplification stage because this or one of the coupling caps is faulty. I'd have to see the unit itself to give you any more details.

No sound

Hi, I've had this problem with the M-VR400 and apparently I had the Tape2 Monitor button pushed on, and I was trying to listen to Video-1. Well, mentally I said I have nothing connected to Tape2 Monitor so I figured the machine couldn't decide on sound Input properly, so I turned off that button and my Surround Sound came back on just like Magic! :) Hope that helps.
