I am guessing you mean you are using a 6 outlet breaker strip. you should not do that as they cant handle the starting of the refr. compressor. do not use any extension cords either, but if you must just get a "heavy" enough one that can handle 20 amps of load.
also make sure you are not using any outlet that has a "gfci" these are not for use with appliances and should only be used when the outlet is close to a water source.
