Creative Inspire 5300 Volume Control broken!

The pin connector (the part that plugs into the subwoofer) on the end of the wire for the wired remote has broken off, and I don't know which color wire goes to which pin!

Can someone find out for me... maybe open it up somehow and look or some wiring schematic or other...

Thanks in advance!!

For those searching the answer "How to replace/repair Creative Inspire 5300 volume control":

Its simple : looking at the back of the suboofer, the pins are as follows from top right, clockwise : LED VDD , Balance pot middle leg, GND, pots + legs, Volume pot middle leg, on switch input. Connect one pots ends to GND and the other ends to pots +, connect a switch on GND and on switch input, anode of led to LED VDD, cathode to GND (there is a 1,8k resistor inside so no external resistor needed)

Hi, thanks for this diagram, but is there a way to use this speaker system without remote? Lost mine long time ago and I'm trying to recycle a bit. :)

The system uses voltage controlled amplifiers for both volume and balance, so the only problem to use without remote is balance which needs 5 volts to be centered (if I remember correctly it uses 10 volts for the pots), so a solution is two 5k resistors tied to Vdd and GND and the center tied to balance input. For volume - 10 volts can directly be connected. Of course it will be on max volume. "Power on" should be tied to GND to run internal power supplies. Actually I bought my speakers without power supply and remote for 20Euro without knowing that they need remote. Then I opened the box and found how it works :)

can you post a real diagram of the control circuit plz ?

I haven't seen the actual remote - I bought mine from the scrap. Then I realized that it cannot be even turned on without it. After few hours of investigating the circuit, found how to make my one remote.

Doing this (shorting power to ground, and the Vcc to Volume) will work for only front speakers at full volume. You will need to use a 'pot' (potentiometer; a.k.a. variable resistor) to set balance or use a couple of resistors to create a voltage division. This should not be very hard to do, except you will need a minimum of 3 resistors; not 2 like the other posts suggest)

First things first:

This is not a special and critical eq. from creative, you can take it to the reapair shop and they sometimes have the schematics, other than this, sorry you have to RMS to CREATIVE.

SOURCE: Sound through right speaker is not proper Creative Inspire M2600

This sounds like an electrical problem in the speaker circuitry - between the speaker(s) and the control knob.

Try this (I hope your system is just stereo.) Buy a jack to fit the headphone plugin. The plug that into the speaker input. That should reroute the sound to the speakers.
