Re: orangr light

It is the auto focus light. The sensor needs it in order for the camera to figure out how to adjust the lens.

Re: orangr light

Seems like you have the AF Illuminator set to on in the SET UP. This lights up every time the camera thinks it is not light enough, gives more brightness to the picture!

Camera keeps opening and closing, orange light comes on

Wow, Not even the manual knows this error. Must be serious. It can mean two things in my mind. The lens is obstructed some how. Inside or outside. Or the battery is not ok. If you can't see anything on the lens barrel outside, please try to charge the battery. The camera will shut down without warning, when the power is low. Be aware the camera won't work as you expect, when a USB cable is attached. Actually you are not allowed to connect the charger, when the camera is still switched on. Look how the charger reacts. See if the battery is charged as before, because if the signal battery full does not appear it could be you have to buy a new battery.

Recently my Canon camera stopped taking pictures. It will take a picture if the flash isn't needed or of you turn the flash off; however, if the flash is needed, the orange flash light will come on...

If your camera is under warranty bring it to the nearest Canon Agency to have it check and repair. Most of the time the problem is mechanical and only the qualified technician can fix it.

Orange light flashes on when turn on Olympus c-50 zoom camera and orange and green lights in upper left corner blink when try to take pictures. Won't take any pictures

The flashing Orange light means the charge is flashing.
The flashing Green light means the focus and exposure are not correct.

Have you recently replaced the batteries? Or are you using rechargeable batteries? Lack of enough "Juice" could allow for the flash to not charge up (Orange) therefore not allowing the camera to get the correct exposure (Green). I would try new fresh batteries or a new battery pack. If that doesn't fix the issue it must be a bad circuitry in the body that is shorting not letting the flash charge.

Camera not taking pictures

The camera may be trying to tell you that your flash is turned off in Auto mode, but to get a proper exposure you will need the flash turned on. Try turning the flash on and see if that works.

Hope this helps!

Canon A540 flash charge not holding

Some of The Canon Powershot A530 and A540 cameras are subject to a advisory recall. Seems that a small spring on the battery compartment door can short out the batteries. Suspect this of yours, in that you mention that your batteries aren't lasting long. If your camera is on the list, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Lights are on but nobody's home!

I had the same problem two years ago and because the camera was still within warranty coverage, I was able to return it to Olympus for no charge repair and they fixed the zoom lens gear and it works fine.

It is something that seems to be a problem with the Stylus 410s. Olympus will not repair them unless they are under warrenty, I've tried. My best advice, and what I am in the midst of myself (I have 2 of these with the same problem) is to file with the BBB. Perhaps if enough complaints come through, they will begin to fix the stylus 410 defect as they should. Good luck. =)
