Question about Mitsubishi WD-52327 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I hope you don't mind if I run one by you.
I've got a friend with a Mitsubishi WD-52327 52" rear proj tv.
She said it needed a new lamp. So I had a look.
Pulled the front panel, pulled the lamp. Noticed it was dusty inside and cleaned the filter and fans.
The lamp didn't look fried. Stuck a meter on it and got no continuity. But I really don't know how this type lamp should respond.
Lamp Cartridge Part No. 915P020010
For giggles, I put the lamp back in, closed the panels up and plugged it in. Hooked up a cable line and turned it on.
It worked......., for about a half hour. Then went black.
Evidently it has a pattern of doing this.
Any ideas? Things to check? Sources for replacement bulbs that don't cost $300.00+?
You are not going to believe this one. My TV had the solid red light took it out inspected the bulb noticed on top where the the wire feeds through there was a black mark I carefully wiped the black off cleaned my filter stuck the bulb back in and its working like new again. Color is brighter than ever. Also left TV unplugged for 1/2 not sure how long it will last but will enjoy as long as it works. Others might want to give this a try before spending hundres of dollars that may not be necessary.

The Mitsubishi DLP sets are known for a round of bad capacitors, especially in the power supply and on the DM module. Let's start with the lamp though. You can find a replacement "bulb" (that means you have to disassemble the housing and install the new bulb ib the old housing) here:
This is an OSRAM replacement lamp, which is the only company that I would recommend you try, the cost is $120.
If you replace the lamp and still have problems, you need to try replacing a couple of cpas on the power supply board. They are C9A37 and C9A38, 3300 ufd. at 16 volts. I would use 3300 ufd at 25 or 35 volt caps for replacements. If you're still having issues, get back to me and there are some other things to check.
