Use commercial glass cleaners that do not contain ammonia, or use Isopropyl Alcohol, or do it simply, use Water with a tiny amount of soft liquid soap.

Good luck to you!

I think you need to degauss your monitor settings to remove these lines. Usually these lines can be removed easily in the CRT monitor setup but as for the case of LCD monitor they are cause due to array of dead pixels. Show it to a good technician for an immediate fix. breastfeeding pillow

Dead pixel on lcd monitor

I used to use a REAL warm damp rag, (Water), and touch the dead pixel. See if I could bring it back. (Rag held underneath to catch ANY drips. Monitor UNPLUGGED from power)

Now I just let it go bye-bye, and purchase another monitor. One dead pixel leads to another eventually.

How do I clean the monitor? my cat has put nose prints all over it, and when I attempt to wipe it off (turned off, of course) I still cannot get it clean.

The best way to clean an LCD monitor is to take a lint free cloth and spray it with Windex or vinegar and water solution, or in a severe case, summer windshield washer fluid (the kind meant to remove insect guts). Make sure the cloth is DAMP, not WET (we don't want anything dripping out of it) and wipe the screen thoroughly.
Dry with another lint free cloth while the screen is still damp.

What does it mean by dead cells?

I assume this is related to your LCD monitor.
I think you mean dead pixels. The LCD monitor has tiny pixel elements, one for each red, blue, green color and each one of these colored pixels are turnes on by a transistor. When a transistor fails then the colored pixel it controls does not light up. This is a dead pixel and it shows up as a tiny black dot.
If the screen displays a blue screen, a dead blue pixel will appear as a tiny black dot in the blue screen.
You normally would not notice a few dead pixels unless they are grouped together.

Care is to be taken? these cases are engineered sometimes with interlocking panels see if you can wedge a a single edge razor blade between the grove of the mated panels and wiggle it see if it moves a little.
If so work it around using danty steps to find the interlocking area the rest is the tought part which one is the release side.
