Question about Acer AL1715 17" LCD Monitor
Hi i have an ACER AL1715 flat screen monitor, last night it was working then when i woke up this morning and when i turned on my computer
my monitor power led (color green) only blinks. then when i press the menu button for about 1-5 secs. it only flashes the picture about half a second. what seems to be the problem. help please. =(
Possibilities include a bad inverter or a bad back light. The inverter powers the back lights. If the inverter senses a problem such as a bad back light or transformer, it will shut down the back lights after about one second. There is actually a picture on the screen, it is just not back lit. Place a flash light flat against the screen and you should see a dark picture.
A common problem in monitors made in Taiwan and China is bad electrolytic capacitors, usually on the power supply board. Bad capacitors usually have a swollen top. This can also cause the screen to go on for a second and then shut off. In this case, the entire monitor will shut down and there will be no dark picture with a flash light. A blinking power suggests it is a bad capacitor.
