After you hook up the router look in the wireless settings and select the option to clone the mac address. Some isp's block more than one mac address because they do not support home networks.

Cant get wifi on my computer got belkin54g router but cant get it working keep saying i dont have wifi on my computer

Hi,

Subject: Unknown computer trying to connect to a Belkin 54g and to the Internet.
Solutions: Straight Connection, Windows Connecter and Microsoft Fixit

Discussion: I'm going to provide you with three solutions and between them you should get online. However, you should be advised that in order to fully analyze and correct any difficulties you're having, we should be chatting or on a telephone connection. All I really know at this point is that you can't connect to the Internet through your Belkin 54g router.

I'm going to give you three FREE general fixes and let's hope that one of them will work for you. If not, then we have to chat.

Let's see if I can help you.

The first solution I'm suggesting works in my business (LAN installations) about 95% of the time. I trust that it will work for you.

Begin by turning on your computer and your router

? Make sure your service provider has activated your account and services on the subscribed line. Please check with your service provider to confirm this.
? Make sure that you are using the latest drivers. You can download the latest driver from Driver Downloads Database.
? Make sure that you have entered the right username and password (case-sensitive) as given by your service provider. For example, in Australia: user@bigpond; in NZ: user.name.xadsl@xtra.co.nz.
? Open Internet Explorer;
? Click on 'Tools';
? Click on 'Internet Options';
? Click on 'Connections';
? Click on 'Setup'
? Click on 'I want to set up my Internet connections manually . . .';
? Click on 'Next';
? Click on 'I connect through a local area network (LAN);
? Clock on 'Next'
? Click on 'Next' [This is not an error];
? Click on 'No';
? Click on 'Next';
? Click on 'To connect to the Internet immediately . . .; and,
? Click on 'Finish'.

That should have you online.

However, if the first solution doesn't get you connected, do the following:
• Click on tools again.
• Click on 'Diagnose Connection Problems'
• and follow the instructions.

The second suggested solution is to use the Setup Wizard. It seldom works for me but you might have more luck than poor me. Here are the instructions:

The Connect to the Internet wizard will guide you through the steps of setting up an Internet connection.

Open the Connect to the Internet wizard by:

• Clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button
• Click on Control Panel.
• In the search box, type network,
• Click "Network and Sharing Center"
• Click Set up a new connection or network
• Then double-click "Connect to the Internet".

The third solution requires an Internet connection. I'm going to pass on to you a FREE and hard to believe program from Microsoft called Microsoft Fixit! I have no idea why this little program hasn't been advertised but then I don't own their stock.

Just click on the following link and your problem should be solved: Download Microsoft's Fixit

You'll see the following areas in which Microsoft Fixit can solve software , hardware and just about every other problem you may incur. They are:

Top Solutions Windows Internet Explorer Windows Media Player

Entertainment Office Other

I suggest that you try top solutions before exploring the other titles.

If it works, be a hero and fix your friends' computers; just don't tell them how you did it! That will be our little secret.

All the best

Ben

I have a wireless linksys router and was using it with my cable modem. I changed to DSL and I can connect to the internet just fine using the Motorola modem, but I don't know how to get my wireless router...

Setting up the modem should not be a huge concern if you have the installation cd. Just start it up and it should walk you through the steps and automatically configure itself. The only information you may need is your ISP, your user name, and password. Most will set up automatically. If you need more assistance, let me know which model you have and I will try and put together a step by step instruction set.

Werfault.exe -application error\r\n

You can try to disable this service by following the below steps:
Step 1: Open your computer's Control Panel by selecting "Start" > "Control Panel" from your computer's Start menu.
Step 2: Choose the "System and Maintenance" > "Problem Reports" menu option from the Control Panel menu.
Step 3: Select "Change Settings" > "Advanced Settings" from the Problem Reports program menu and turn off the automatic problem reporting feature in Windows.
Step 4: Exit the Problem Reporting application by selecting "File" > "Exit" from the File menu. Werfault.exe will now only run on your computer in the event of a catastrophic application problem.

If disabling the application does not work, y
ou should keep in mind that many malware programs can show up on your system as seemingly legitimate files by using file names that are very similar to those of legitimate files. Whenever you are in doubt about a particular file, always scan your system for viruses.

I have router that used by two computers one is desk top and lap top desk top work just fine but lap top worked ggod for a some time then one day just quit. on my intel proset wireless wifi inconnections...

First I would replace the connection cord to the computer that is not working. Try switching the cords to test them. The router may have a reset button. Turn the router off for at least three minutes, and try again.

This is only a problem with the firmware of your modem/router that you need to update it, because a network device like a modem and router that is working fine for severla years and suddenly stop working you just need to update the firmware of it and it should be working fine again, to update the firmware of the modem/router just need to call the manufacturer for that....

Hope that helps.........

Hi, just got a belkin N wireless router - it's been working fine, but now the blue LED referring to the "internet" connection is not on, and I'm trying to add my laptop to the network, but I...

You need to contact your Internet provider for that one. You can try the following first though.

Unplug both you Router and your Internet box for a couple of minutes. Then plug them back up to see if that helps. Also try to plug a computer directly to the Internet connection without the router in line and see if that works. This is the process that your Internet company will have you go through. If you do not have a connection without your router; tell them what you have do so you can skip those steps with them. They might have an outage in your area or your Internet box could be bad.

Is your wired network working? Both should be out at the same time. If the wired connection is working; you have problems with your wireless connection only. If you do not get it solved; let me know what you have tried.

I can't fix this for you, but if I helped you get it fixed, please rate it as a fixya not a helpful rating. These ratings let me be allowed to help you and others in the future.

Try resetting your IP address:
The laptop may be trying to use the IP address from the old router.

1) Click Start (assuming Windows 2000, XP, or Vista)
2) Click Run
3) Type in CMD
This will take you to a black command box
4) Type in: ipconfig/release
The chart should show your IP address as 0.0.0.0
Once this has happened, proceed to step 5
5) Type in: ipconfig/renew
You should now see a new IP address listed.

Also note that you need to set up your network key (assuming that you are using one) on both the router and laptop.
Make sure that your router is set up to perform as DHCP server.
