Problem is called convergence; see attached photos.
This set uses 2 of the STK-392-110 convergence chips, both will have to be replaced and total parts cost on EBAY will be under 25 dollars.
The good news is I have start to finish step by step instructions for this repair in this set. They tell you everything you will need and exactly how to do it.
They are based on my experience doing this repair in hundreds of sets just like yours.
I will enclose also a photo of what the chips look like.
If you want the instructions let me know and we will find a way to get them to you for free.
If this information told you something you did not know, rate this solution as I do this here for free.

This is a JVC board but it uses the exact same chips (black) that are in your set.

Unplug the TV from the ac wall outlet for about 4 minutes then plug it back in and turn it on. If it still has a double image then tell me if it's affecting the menu screen from the TV (not the cable menu). And is the double image in red and blue?

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
Here is a quick test....
Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.
Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.
You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.
If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.
Solution #1
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.
