You need to go into your audio menu or function menu and turn off ASL. this is a circuit that is meant to adjust the volume for you automatically depending on road noise.

Low output with high volume

sounds like distortion is being caused by trying to amplify a low volume level from the input device. try putting the ipod volume at a medium level and try again to see if the distortion goes away/reduced

The navigation voice volume on AVIC F900BT

Hi

The volume can be increased by two ways:

You need to rotate MULTI-CONTROL to adjust the AV (Audio and Video) volume.

Also you can touch the keys in the following order in Top Menu; Settings Navi Settings Sound Settings and then touch or drag the slider.

Please see this Pioneer AVIC-F900BT User Manual for more details.

Please do rate the solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Volume problem with VSX-D409

Had the same problem. I had to replace the volume contol. It was inside the receiver behind the knob. It has a part# on it. Mine was part# AWX7386 (control assembly) from Pioneer.com. If you can figure out how to open the case than you can change this piece. Good luck
