hi i believe what you are facing is as a result of 2 things, the power pack or the motherboard, since you have tried other adapter..i suggest u try opening up the laptop and perceive for burnt smell,..if u cant do it yourself get someone with a bit of experience to help u with it, but definately you will have to replace whichever is faulty
"Download the latest BIOS, and put bothFLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file in the root directory of the stick.Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD, that's important. Do not remove theUSB stick.
Turn the AA1 off, make sure both battery and AC adapter are connected.Press Fn+Esc, keep it pressed and press the power button to turn theAA1 on. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds, the power button will beblinking. Press the power button once. The AA1 will now initiate theBIOS flash, do not interrupt it under any circumstances. After a whilethe power button will stop blinking, and the AA1 will reboot shortlyafter. Wait patiently.
The BIOS has been flashed and all settings reset to default. "
The Bios can be found from the Acer site.

Please try and bootup your computer in safe mode by pressing the F8 Button just before windows starts to load. a menu appears and you just need to select the safe mode option and see how it goes from there.
Found a nice solution at another website: switch off the pc, unplug the power supply cable AND remove battery. Press "on" switch for 20 seconds. Now re-install battery, plug back power supply cable, and switch on. Worked for me (what exactly worked for me I don't know but hey)
i have had just the same problem, i took my laptop apart removed the cmos battery its just to the side of the trackpack on top of the motherboard, but this did not work, HERE is the solution with out stripping the all the laptop make sure the battery is out and no power to the laptop all you need to do is take the plastic part with the power button on off and underneath you will see a small switch called SW1 move the number one switch to on then power up the laptop press F2 and there you go your in the bios, save all settings turn off put the switch back to where it was put you plastic facia back on replace the battery power up now press F2 and do what you want all is good
firts put the original harddrives back in place :) then you need to enter the 3000's bios If I remember right thats done by pressing f2 or del in a acer. it should tell you what button is correct on the bootup screen.
Then you need to change the boot order to haveing the dvd/cd drive before the harddrive, since right now its booting strate from the harddrive.
Then you should be able to restore the operateing system with the disks that came with the laptop and or from a normal xp or vista cd/dvd.
