Dear i think you didnt get option to select the first boot device. So please try this one.
1>restart your laptop and press F12 OR F10 KEY and this will show you the bootable device in the list than selecte the dvd rom and keep inserted the bootable CD ok. i tell you F12 OR F10 mean diffrent bios has different setting so one of it will definately work ok.

Why my Toshiba Satekkite laptop won't reformat the hard drive?

Why are you trying to reformat the drive ? The entire operating system and all files will be destroyed if you do this. To reformat the drive requires an external program on a disk that would allow you to reinstall windows from scratch. Most Bios chips can do a reformat but accessing these low level programs is for pros only and varies widely from machine to machine. Unless you have a nasty Trojan, virus or worm that can't be removed any other way I would not do this. You will need a working copy of a boot disk to get the machine up and running after the reformat. Then you can reinstall the Operating System. If you had been successful in your reformat you would have found yourself with a DEAD MACHINE unless you had a boot disk ready.

Password for acer aspire s3 series model ms2346

Is this a question? What kind of password? Windows Administrative or BIOS password? Is the computer yours or are you trying to access something that isn't yours?

If it has a bios password, it needs to be reset or disabled by the person that set it, or by taking apart the computer and finding either the BIOS battery or jumper to switch it off to reset the bios back to factory conditions.

If the password is administrative for Windows then the only option(if you don't know it) is to reformat the computer to a new version of Windows. There are alternatives around the password but it involves downloading programs and running them from a CD to gain access to them and I'd rather not divulge such information until I understand that this is your computer.

The one that can access the bios password is the last one who reformat your unit. If you can not reached the said person?... Only some certified Acer aspire technicians can remove the bios password.

How do i change bios settings on a laptop that wont let me passed the hdd password

BIOS passwords on a laptop would be especially tricky to override, especially on a laptop, you will have to take the laptop to a service provider for the specified laptop brand, and have them wipe/replace the chip that contains the password. Hope this helps.

My n205 says it cannot access hard drive (probably the result of a virus) so I think I need to reformat the drive, or look for appropriate solution

I would not assume that the drive is corrupted by a virus. Viruses generally don't cause the machine to not be able to find the hard drive (they can...it's just not very common). If your BIOS supports a hard drive diagnostic I would first use that to check that the BIOS is seeing the drive, and that the drive doesn't have errors (as you don't have to get into the operating system). However, if you decide to reformat you can try it, but if the drive is having physical problems the install probably will not execute.

If the machine says it cannot access the hard drive, and the BIOS cannot see the drive, it is highly likely not a virus but a failed hard drive and you won't be able to reformat.

Hope that is helpful.

Acer TravelMate 5520 is bio-probtected and unknown password

As a general rule, registering with "Acer Standard Registration" is simply putting your computer under Acer's warranty for operation and/or repair if needed; registration almost certainly has nothing to do unlocking your password.

First, without sounding critical, if you didn't set the bio-protection, who did? Or, who had access to your computer that could have set the biometric fingerprint sensor? That person could/should be able to unlock it.

Assuming you've used the computer (and not someone else) and you're not the second register of the computer, you could try contacting Acer at their website and explain your problem and see if they can answer your question.

If the laptop is not originally yours, and the biometric sensor was set by a previous owner, that should solve your problem, having the previous owner "unlock" the system.

If the laptop is not originally yours and you don't know who the previous owner is, there's a good chance that you cannot access the informtion. You could take the laptop to a computer repair outlet that does hard drive repairs, however that is usually not cheap and you might pay for them for an evaluation and find that they cannot unlock the system.

And, there's a chance that you will not be able to reformat the disk; the protection might not allow you to reformat it. Again, you might need to bring it to a computer shop and have them reformat it (or, possibly, install a new hard drive in order to use the computer).
