Why does my central heating system stop before reaching desired temperature? NOT SOLVED HELP PLEASE

I am in Southern Ontario, it's freezing here!

Air duct cleaning helps.

Clean filters help. Perhaps the fan motor is getting lazy. Fan not spinning properly. Vacuum the slots in the fan.

Battery inside the thermostat makes no difference. If it works, it works. If your temperature is shy by 2'C, just set it to 24'C.

Thermosthat doesn't work

Hi , yes it sounds like the thermostat is stuffed.  To replace it is relatively simple but always keep in mind , switch off and un-plug it before working on it for safety ,  to replace it you will need a phillips head screw driver , a flat screw driver and a note pad,  where the dial is , that is the thermostat , the surrounding screws are what hold it in position so removal is only a matter of having a real good look inside . Thermostats for this purpose are about $15 to $35 dollars depending on your country . replacement time is about a hour depending on how much trouble to have getting the old one out. remember that this device has a small alloy tube which is the sensing part of the thermostat , be careful not to damage this because it carries a small refrigerant charge which is the primary temperature sensor so please be very careful and above all take your time .
I hope this helps you ,
Thank you and have a nice day:)

Thermosthat

Follow the top radiator hose to the engine it will lead to a housing that is bolted on the block the thermostat is inside that housing case You will need to remove the case take out the thermostat clean the old gasket awy from the block and housing case before you replace the new thermostat and gasket its always a good idea to put a light coating of silicone sealer around the housing where it fits together before you put it back on
