WAS RIDING THE OTHER DAY AND MY BIKE QUIT ON ME JUST BACK FIRED AND STOPPED. HAD NO LIGHTS. GOT HOME AND CHARGED BATTERY. STILL HAVE NO LIGHTS UNLESS IT IS HOOKED UP TO THE BATTERY CHARGER
Right if you can start the bike once you have charged the battery this is how to test rectifier without paying if its faulty it will give the bike to much voltage and will pop the bulbs if it don't do that it will go the other way n your break light or even just normal rear light will flicker wen idling as all the rectifier does is gives you a consistent voltage feed of example say 48 volts and it shouldn't drop any lower. If you can't get lights at all without being on charge your rectifier is definatley knackered as that shows it isn't sending any power/voltage to your lights as there ay nothing else that your lights would work off except the stator/generator you may have worn bushes the copper rolls round the stator or even a bad connection try that is ok its defo rectifier
SOURCE: Battery on 125cc Suzuki GS is ok- but not being charged
You need to have stator coil tested.
An alternate problem could be the regulator/rectifier.
Both of these should tbe checked by a dealer

SOURCE: the bike starts one day and not the next it is a suzuki vl800
There is a switch down on the kick stand, if the kick stand is in the right position it is not going to let the bike start, letting out on the clutch a little may override that switch, ck this first see if it is loose or out
of its socket, then ck the wires to the switch.
SOURCE: I have a 2001 Suzuki SV650.
The same thing happened to me (2002 sv650) and it turned out to be the voltage regulator. Check it.
SOURCE: Bike stalls out in neutral and wont start back up while riding
check that the side stand is returning to the foldfed position,, they are known to work lose and imobilise the starter mech
