If the capacitors look fine, could it be the whole power supply?

I have the same problem. No red light, no blue light, nothing. Brought it to a repair shop, they told me it was the power supply, however, they could not get Polaroid to send them the $20 part. Called Polaroid myself, they told me for $225 they would send a tech to fix it after they sent me the part. If I wanted just the part and no tech, it would cost me $200. I took the bait, picked up the tv and twice, they sent the wrong part and the tech could not fix it. They refuse to do anything else or even give me my money back. It wasn't until I found the e-mail to the customer relations person that he told me they would send me a refurbished tv instead. got the refurbished and its all scratched, missing parts and not the same model. Now they are harrassing me to send my old, broken tv to them otherwise they are going to send me an invoice. Polaroid is absolutely HORRIBLE and the tech guy (independant) as well as the tv repair shop told me they are the absolutely worse tv's around. Now....the problem is the power supply, not the caps. It is a separate part in this tv (model 3201) and I believe that is true in mode 3225 as well. According to the tech, it takes about 15 minutes to change if you can find the part.

Is the status light on wheather red or blue if eather one then the fuse is fine if not check the fuse. if the lights are on then chances are your caps are gone its a huge problem with these tvs. if it is your caps than just replace them as i did and the tv is working like new again. These are the caps I replaced they where only a little swollen I was worried if they where even the problem but I changed these three and was very happy that my TV is now working like new again the two top ones I replaced with 1000uf 16v the lower one is 1000uf 35v ok well I hope this helps ya

i would still go with the caps, check them real good because one of mine where hardly noticable and after i changed it it turned rite on. the board that i am showing is the power board and where these caps are junk and cant handle the heat that theye are seeing i would still suggest replasing them for an hours worth of work and about ten dollars in caps its so worth the shot to get the tv running again.

Help new power supply will not power up.

if you had a surge, it could have damaged more than just the power supply. When you plug in the unit, does the power indicator light up??? your main board could also have damage. The main board sends a signal to wake up the power supply thus turning on the TV. If you have to replace the main board as well, it probably won' t be economical to repair the set.

I have a Polaroid tv 32" flat screen tv and I heard a noise like hissing! It got louder and then my tv went out and smoke came from the top of it! So, can it be fixed and how much would it cost to...

99% chance the problem is in the inverter board that provides the AC needed for the flourescent lamps behind the LCD monitor.

There's a small chance it is the power board.

I can't get tv to send sound to sound system

Having browsed the user manual I wonder if you plugged in the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System while the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv was powered down via the optical cable .
Then powered up the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System first and then powered up the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv
Maybe the Polaroid FLM-2632 TV has to detect that the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System is connected and powered up when the Polaroid FLM-2632 powers up. To activate its digital audio out ????
The note part about only being available only under HDTV (cable/air) mode. Might be the cause of your hassle also ?

source from
? Connecting to Audio Receiver:
Use an audio cable to connect the audio receiver's audio LINE IN jacks to LCD TV's
AUDIO OUT jacks. ? Connecting to Digital 5.1 Sound System:
Use an optical cable to connect the audio amplifier's OPTICAL IN jacks to LCD TV's
Use a coaxial cable to connect the audio amplifier's COAXIAL IN jacks to LCD TV's
Note: Above mentioned function is only available under HDTV (cable/air) mode.
? Connect all AC power sources, before turning on the power switch of the LCD TV or
other connected equipment.
? Press the button on the remote to turn on the LCD TV."

Polaroid flat screen TV's picture went to black after 53 weeks. Help!

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

TV won't turn on with remote or manually. I've replaced the power board.

If you replaced the power supply module due to bad capacitors or blown parts, it could have damaged the main board when it went out.
