Re: No Sound

I have the same problem, if digital sign blink on the display. It is the DSP card who is defective. Probably the DSP itself.

Hi, I have an AVR-1906, and the sound does not work for cable. Tuner, etc sound works fine, but alll I am getting is a clicking noise similar to a heartbeat from the speakers when I try to watch cable....

Since the other inputs are working normally, there's probably nothing wrong in the receiver. I'm assuming you have a cable box and are feeding the audio from that to the receiver. If so, the settings there may have changed so that it's not outputting audio correctly (set for a different audio channel, for instance) or something has gone wrong with the box. (Recent storms in my area have caused problems with cable and FiOS boxes for several people I know, and they needed replacements.) If you're using an HDMI cable, try using the RCA audio outputs and see if they have the same trouble. I suspect you'll need to contact your cable provider to resolve this.

Twice now my Pioneer VSX-819H has shut down. Can not get any power to it. The first time I'm sure the phono pre-amp caused a surge. I no longer have it hooked up. The servicer said nothing was wrong and...

I found this for the VSX918, 818. Perhaps it's similar.

The power does not turn on. • Disconnect the power plug from the outlet, and insert again.
• Make sure there are no loose strands of speaker wire touching the rear panel. This could cause the receiver to shut off automatically.
The receiver suddenly switches off and the power indicator
• After about a minute (you won’t be able to switch the unit on during this time), switch the receiver back on. If the message persists, call a Pioneer authorized independent service company.

Resetting the main unit
Use this procedure to reset all the receiver’s settings to the factory default. Use the front panel controls to do this.
1 Switch the receiver into standby.
2 While holding down the ADVANCED SURROUND button, press and hold the
STANDBY/ON button for about three
3 When you see RESET? appear in the display, press ‘
ST –’. OK?
shows in the display.
4 Press SOUND RETRIEVER to confirm.
appears in the display to indicate that the receiver has been reset to the factory settings.

Denon AVR-3600,no sound

I only have a fuzzy brochure (no manual) for this unit.

Are the channel indicators normal or at least Front L and R lit?

Do you have headphones and/or can you run an audio pair out from, say, VCR1 (but DON'T select it on the front panel), to the TV to see if there is any audio passing through the unit with an FM station tuned?

Or a tape deck that you can use to prove some kind of programming is circulating internally?

You didn't answer about the Tape Monitor or DAT/Tape 1 being OFF.

What's your speaker set-up?

Front speakers have no sound now.

Hups, apparently my friend put the speakers into wrong slots. Then i just copied him while trying different speaker setups and it simply never occurred to either of us to check if these were the correct slots :-D

Anyway sorry for these useless posts.

Harman Kardon AVR 120 turns off by itself after normal work for about 1 min

Do you get an indication on the display where the point of failure might be? It would show up on the LCD speaker diagrams just before shutting off.

If "Digital" sign blink on front panel, it means DSP do no start properly. If DSP do not start, main UC mute audio. Change IC, AT49LV002-70TC (IC 817 ) at DSP board (Denon P/N: 262 3010 006).
