This is normal - you are zooming in on the picture. Most people use the zoom feature to "stretch" a widescreen movie so it will fit the screen.

have you tried checking the buttons on the front of the tv? alot of the time they can become collapsed and will make contact at will. If this is the case you can either remove the aspect button completely and just use the remote, Or for testing purposes, unplg the switch panel completely .

My TV picture cuts off on the top and bottom

Check what format you are in. 4:3 is like a regular tv. Sides will be cut off in this format on a widescreen tv. 16:9 zoomed will cut of top & bottom slightly. You want just regular 16:9. No zoom.

Screen is to big

Either the TV or the cable/satellite receiver has Zoomed in to the image when parts of the picture are cut off. Look at both remotes for a Zoom feature or the onscreen menu's for any settings. Usually TV settings don't change on their own but cable/satellite receivers can receive updates and it may need to be reset afterwords, much like a PC.

Full Zoom Mode Problem

Look on your remote and see if there is a "Format" button, press this to cycle through the different format options, and find one that fits.

If there is not a Format button on your remote, try looking in the setup menus and see if there is an option for formatting or zoom.

Going nuts!!

If you are using Dish Network, while in SAT mode, hit the star key on the remote (also labled FORMAT). It will start scrolling through certain modes: zoom, partial zoom, normal, stretch... etc)
