TV gettin power...but no pic and no sound

So I turn on the TV and the green light comes on indicating that it has power...but there is no picture and no sound. The remote will not function at all (aside from turning the tv on...i.e. the green power light) but will not turn it off, change channel, change input, or change volume etc... The power will go off when I press the main power switch in the back of the unit, or unplug it from the wall. Help please!!!

No sound and no picture

The green indicator merely lets you know that power is getting to your TV. The absence of picture and sound could be due to power supply failure

Turn tv on. green light solid display, no picture or sound

The flashing green light is likely indicative of a self-test failure, indicating the TV has detected some sort of internal fault. With no picture or sound, one strong suspect is the power supply. Flat-panel TV's have an internal DC power supply that converts the inbound AC current, and when these fail, or are unable to supply a minimum level of power to the set, it can behave as you describe, providing only enough power for the green light to illuminate.

On the remote control to that tv, after the power is turned on, find and push the input button untill you have a picture. The input button switches where you are receiving your signal from, cable, component, video 1, vedeo 2,,etc,,,.

Turn on the tv the green power light comes on but there is no picture whatsoever

Is there a PC mode and hook up on this model? If so try and use the TV as a monitor for your PC. If it has a picture your tuner could be the problem. I had the same cinerio with my new Toshiba 42" Hdtv. Hooked up a DVD player recorder with a tuner and it worked. It had a bad tuner in the TV. You don't mention if there is sound. If you have sound then it maybe the light for the LCD pic.

No picture on TV with powerlight on

If you press the power button *on* your TV (rather than using the RC), does the power light still stay on red rather than turn green?

Sony FWD50PX2/S 50 in. Plasma Television power problem

It does sound like a power supply problem but that can be misleading because a problem somewhere else in the TV can be "holding down" the power supply. This can usually be determined by using some isolation techniques.
