There may be hidden screws on it. Look under any lables or rubber feet. You may also need to pry it apart along it's middle longways.

How can I get remote for my tv to work

1.) Take it apart
2.) Clean the rubber part(s) in warn water with soap (liquid soap)
3.) wash down all the dirt and soap residues
4.) Clean the part lower part of the rubber with clean alcohol, you ban buy it for $ 5.00 and it can come handy any time you need to clean things...
5.) clean the circuit boards part, where the buttons connect with when you press it.
7. clean the battery holder throughoutly, and check for corrosion. you can clean it the alcohol too.
8. Now when everything is dry, you can mount it together and place some better (NO ZINK-COAL! ONLY ALKALINE) batteries into.
9. I has to work if not, maybe the "remoted" electric device have a problem.

You can always check you remote with a cell phone or a compact camera (very expensive DLSR-s will not work as the have IR filters), so yust check out the video.

My convergence on my Toshiba 57'' is out of whack. Only the Blue is an issue where I am unable to repair through the Convegence setting menu. I love the TV and would like to fix this myself without...

did you try to set the convergence adjustment on the remote control? there is a pattern (crosshatch) which you can adjust the convergence of RGB guns,If it cannot be done on earth as it is an heaven... you must open the back cover and look at the liquid coolant at blue gun, that liquid acts as a coolant at the same time as lens, check the level of liquid, usually it leaks and need a repair kit for replacement, make sure not to drop the coolant on the board that's conductor and corrosive.

We have a Phiphs flat screen TV model number 26PF5321/10. There is intermittent lack of control and volume increase up to maximum. What could be the problem?

Check out the remote for sticking keys if Volume up is stuck the it will stop any other function. Is it possible that the remote has had a liquid spillage if so it will need dismantling and cleaning with Isopropyl Alcohol

T V. remote control not working, new batteries instaled

Have you got a phone with a camera? The easiest way to check the remote is to "fire" the remote at the camera and view the image on the screen. If the remote works at all, you should see flashes of light around the infra-red LED on the remote. If you can't see anything, you can open up the remote, check for obvious poor solder joints. Sometimes a liquid spill insulates the keypad from the carbon contactors on the rubber pads. Try cleaning the ENTIRE remote in surgical or methylated spirit. Dry the remote thoroughly and then reassemble it and try the camera technique again. I have solved lots of remote problems this way.

Good luck.
