Question about Dual XDM6825 CD/MP3/WMA Player

2 Answers

Radio works fine, put in a cd and it ejects it.

Is there a code to enter to make this unit work? Radio came out of another car and I have no info about it. It doesn't give an error code, it just says "eject" and sends the cd out. I've tried several cds. None burned. If I need a code, how can I get it?

The help I got was as good as I could expect and is appreciated but the problem appears to be more severe as it still doesn't function properly. Thanks for the guide to the manual and the rest. I'm just going to leave it the way it is for now.

2007 toyota camry cd player reading error 1

I had the error code no. 1 in my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. It has the CD radio unit with JBL system. It will not eject the CD, or play it. I removed the entire radio/CD unit and replaced it with a used excellent unit bought off of ebay for $100, and the replacement works fine. However the replacement is also 7 years old. Therefore I would not be surprised if it failed again. Prior to the error 1 I had intermittent error 3 codes, which had the same effect: no playing of the CD, unable to eject, and unable to insert other CDs. Sometimes the error codes would go away, and the function would be normal. But once it started, I think it was on a downhill path. A new replacement is nearly $2000. Used are about $100 to $200 or more depending on the seller and condition of the unit. Youtube has videos on how to replace the unit which only requires simple tools: it is not difficult but takes about 45 minutes to an hour. If you do it you have to put the car in gear to move the gear shift gate, which requires the car to be on, so you should have the parking brake on for safety. One alternative is to send your unit to a repair company but that might cost more than simply replacing the unit. Good luck!

Radio stopped working properly! Pontiac G6, 2006, 6 cylinder.

The CD load/unload mechanism appears to be malfunctioning. You have to take the radio out and see if you can manually remove the disc or pick up a used radio from the scrap yard

Cd is jammed in cd player, when i try to hit the eject button it tells me there is no cd. how do i get it out?

Turn the radio off and then disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. Make sure the radio is off or your going to be prompted to enter a radio code to activate it again. Once the battery is reconnected the radio can be turned on again and then try to eject the CD. Good luck and this should work.

Cd in car player will NOT eject -any ideas ??

The CD players in this model are prone to failure, best thing you can do is to get another aftermaket unit installed and ask the installer to remove your strip your old unit down to retrieve the CD's. BridgeFoley, does the radio work on your one? If not, does it just show CODE or ERR on the screen? This indicates that the security code needs to be put in, always needed after battery replacement. You can get the code from a ford dealer, but they may need to remove the stereo and obtain a serial number to find the code. If the radio works but the cd player doesn't, then my advice is the same as for jaydawg13.
Hope this helps, Mark
