Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I recently bought a new Acer AX1200-B160A. It was working fine, until out of nowhere the sound went out. I checked the Device Manager & found that there4's a conflic on the audio controller. Not only thats, but my processor, monitor, ISA bridge & the root bus enumerator is also in conflict. I tried updating 1st & it says it is the best driver. Then I installed & uninstalled and the same thing. I tried rolling back & nothing. The computer still detects the software because it still has its name, but for some reason the computer is not using the driver. I didn't get any virus or anything & wasn't doing anything unusuall online. I was just watching a DVD & all this happened. Please any suggestions will help. Thnax.

Check your computer if the driver of your sound card is installed by play a music/mp3 in your windows media player if no error your sound driver is installed already...if there is a error installed first your sound driver...you can check also your speaker to another computer with installed sound driver, if this working...your computer have a problem with your sound driver..

Want to know what worked for me? Acer drivers.

I found this driver: Acer Extensa 5210 Chicony Webcam Driver 5.7

(I have also mirrored the file here.)

Here are the exact steps I took.

1. Downloaded the file.
2. Unzipped it to a folder on my desktop.
3. Ran the "Setup.exe" file in the folder that got unzipped.
4. Went through the installer until it got to the end and then let it restart my computer.
5. Waited for my computer to restart.
6. It popped up something saying it was installing the drivers for my webcam. Waited until it was done.
7. Opened the Control Panel.
8. Opened the Device Manager.
9. Find my webcam under "Imaging Devices". I noticed it was listed as "HP Pavilion Webcam" despite having just installed the Acer drivers.
10. Right-clicked on my webcam and chose "Update Driver Software..."
11. Chose "Browse my computer for driver software"
12. Chose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
13. Unchecked the "Show compatible hardware" checkbox.
14. Scrolled down to the Chicony manufacturer.
15. Chose the "Acer Crystal Eye webcam.
16. Told it to install anyway when it asked me a question about installing that driver.
17. Waited for the driver to be installed.
18. Noted that my webcam was now listed as an Acer Crystal Eye webcam in Device Manager.

And that was it. It appears to work totally fine now! Again, I have my fingers crossed that it won't suddenly break again, but so far so good.

Forgot to note: This is on a DV6000T running Windows Vista 32-Bit Home Premium.

And here's proof: smile.gif

I took that with Dorgem, an excellent, free, open source webcam application.

Acer monitor x193w, no sound.

Please try to check the sound device status if its working properly thru right click My Computer icon > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager > (double click) Sound, Video & Game Controller OR System Device > System Speaker. also, take note of the Troubleshoot tab. If still it doesn't work, I think you have to reinstall the sound driver (from its motherboard software CD if it's built-in type). best regards

Acer aspire 4315!

It sounds like you have not properly installed the audio driver. You have to go in device manager and see if you have any question mark in any of the devices or the audio. To go to device manager you hit start then control panel and then click device system and then click device manager.
