Every time we put a DVD on for our 2 year old it loads up for maybe a minute then says wrong disc. We have tried everything and i cannot seem to figure it out. It has been working great up till two days ago. Is there something on the remote he may have pressed?

Re: Keeps telling me Wrong Disc....
Try another disc and if that fails get a DVD lens cleaner disc. That will clean the lasers lens wich in most cases causes the issue. Don't overlook alot of fingerprints on the dics itself. One thing to try quickly and see if the laser is still working is put an audio CD in and if that plays then most likely the dirt is the factor.

This tell you, either your lens was defective or your disc is not compatible to your player. Please use disc that you know working good on your player and play. If still fail, we have been narrow down the problem now i.e your player lens. Please get it cleaned with disc lens cleaner and retry your player, If fail again, you need to replace the lens.
Depending on how your 2 year old put the discs into the Wii it is quite possible that either the loading mechanism or the laser itself has been damaged. As there are a large number of things that could be wrong the only way to ensure the correct diagnosing is to take the Wii to your local authorized repair center and have them do a complete check of the system.
first i downloaded the manual and read it through... it mentioned wrong disc but did not give any solution so i rang Teac and they told me it was a malfunction and by the time i paid for them to look at it i could buy a new dvd..... so i am going to buy a new dvd..... not really a solution but the only one available
If you are loading a store bought DVD and that it what it say's. The transport needs to be replaced. roughly 150-200. If you are loading "burned" DVD's the format may be wrong and the unit cannot read it. Best suggestion I can give you is to first buy a "Laser Lens Cleaner" on that uses fluid. Any electronics store sells them for 15-20. Run it thru the unit a couple of times then try a clean, store bought DVD. If it plays, problem solved. With your DVD's, if you have any liquid car polish like mother's or meguiars, put a couple drops on the disc and spread around with your finger, let it set a couple then buff off with a microfiber towel. This works wonders for old scratched cd's and dvd's and helps protect new ones from getting scratched. As for the Lens cleaner, run it thru every product you have that uses discs 3 or 4 times a year, it's the best preventative maintance and only maintanance you can do on a CD player DVD or PC. Hope this helps
I have the same problem. I load the dvd in and after some time it comes up wrong disc. Up until now it has been working well. This is the second coby dvd as i replaced the first one under warrenty with the same problem however it came up with wrong regional disc
It clicks and keeps loading after a while it says"wrong disc," I just have it for a few months and it acted like this. I checked inside, it seems like everything is correct but it just clicks and never spins. or it says error disc... i just bought this GRRRRRR!!!!!!!
are they bootleg dvd's? if not try getting a lense cleaner because wrong disc means it's reading your dvd's as .mov files which only play on quicktime in a computer. if it reads your cleaner as wrong disk too then get yourself a refund cuz it has a motherboard malfunction.
If you tryed to clean it and it didnt work you could have several things that went wrong and depending on what did go wrong will tell you if you wanna spend the money or buy a new one. If the laser assy went bad you probably will buy a new one. if you find a good authorized repair shop, then it may just need cleaning and a servo alighnment. or a bad spindle motor, or your missing a switched voltage on the power supply could be missing. Im sorry to tell ya that there are no user serviceable parts inside this unit unless your a tech. The only info i have for emerson is the help # Maybe they can show you where to take the unit to be servced/
