Check the reversion number on the bottom of your router.
General instructions for port forwarding are here.

If you need more specific details for a certain application, go from here. (You will have to scroll way down to find the D-Link section)

Print server for vista, D-link DI-704p

I can recomend to your network setup is WPS54GU2
Wireless-G PrintServer for USB 2.0
******************************** Before configuring the wireless settings of the printserver, make sure to know the following settings on your D-link router: SSID, and wireless security.
Configuring the Wireless Settings on the Printserver
The wireless settings of the printserver can be configured using its web-based utility. Make sure the printserver is set to a static IP on the network.
NOTE: Make sure the printserver is already working when hardwired to the Dlink router before attempting to use it wirelessly on your network.
Step 1:
Access the printserver’s web-based setup page. Open a web-browser such as Internet Explorer.
NOTE: If you're using Mac, use Safari to access the printserver's web-based setup page.
Step 2:
Go to the address bar and enter the IP address you've assigned to the PrintServer.
NOTE: To assign the PrintServer a static IP address, click here.
Step 3:
When the printserver setup page appears, click Wireless.

Need help in connecting to the internet using Dlink 704p router.....

it doesn't matter whether the other computer is set to static and the other one is set to dynamic as long as both computers are getting/using valid ip addresses.
if i got it right. 1 computer is connected to the LAN port of the router and the other computer is connected to the WAN port. if so, you need to connect both computer to the LAN ports and the WAN port of the router should be connected to the modem that you are using.
if the physical connection is correct, check how you are connecting to the internet through the modem. if you can access the internet from the modem without configuring anything, you just need to power cycle. turn off everything then turn on the modem first, wait for the lights on the modem to turn on properly before turning on the router then turn on the computers.
hope this'll help you but if not, just provide the following:
(1)ISP:
(2)brand/model of the modem:
so i can help you further.

Vista Compatibility with DI-704P

The print server software does not need to be installed in order to print to the printer attached to the 704P from Vista. I went out to D-LINK's website and there are step-by-step instructions for configuring port 192.168.0.1 and associating a printer with that port.

See the following link:
http://support.dlink.com/faq/print.asp?productid=794

These instructions are for 2000/XP but they are very similiar to what you need to do for Windows Vista. I tried it and it worked fine. It did take me several tries however, as I should have read through the steps completely first.

Add di-704p to an existing network

What you want to do should be quite easy:

1. Just connect one of the LAN ports of the DI-704P to a LAN port of your WRT54G. Try using a standard network cable. If the port status lights does not turn on on both sides when you connect the cable, use a "crossover" cable. Important: leave the DI-704P WAN port empty.

2. Disable the DHCP server on your DI-704P, your WRT54G will be the DHCP server.

3. Assign a static IP address to you DI-704P, different from your WRT54G. Example, if your WRT54G has 192.168.2.1, you may assign 192.168.2.4 to your DI-704P. Make sure that the IP address you assign is outside the DHCP range configured in your WRT54G and that the subnet mask is identical on both.
You will then be able to use your print server from any wired and wireless computer and the remaining LAN ports both on the WRT54G and DI-704P.

Configure to print

You may print without the D-Link Printer software in Windows 2000/XP. Here´s how: Step 1 Go to Start>Settings>Printers>Add New Printer (WinXP - Start>Printers and Faxes>Add a Printer). Step 2 Select Local Printer. Make sure to uncheck Automatically detect and install my plug and play printer. Click Next. Step 3 Select Create a New Port and select Standard TCP/IP port. Click Next. Step 4 Enter the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1). Leave the port name with the default name. Click Next. Step 5 You will get a message saying that additional port information required. Step 6 Select Custom and then click Settings. Step 7 Set Protocol to LPR. Step 8 For the LPR Settings, queue name is lp. It is case sensitive! (LP lower-case). In most cases, check LPR Byte Counting Enabled. If you cannot print, then try unchecking this. Step 9 Select OK > Finish. Step 10 Continue with the Add Printer Wizard. Choose your printer from the list or click Have Disk and point to your printer driver disk.
