Question about Kodak EasyShare DX6490 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Dark Pictures Hi. 2-3 years ago my Dad bought a Kodak EasyShare DX6490 and it's worked just fine in the past. Now, unless you have full sunlight and a very bright day, it takes dark pictures. I was out today in the snow and took several pictures with it. While they look okay on the viewing screen, when I get them onto the computer, they're very dark. Can you help me? Thanks ever so much! Corrie

Hello Cowgirl, It sounds like the camera settings have been changed in the menu.Check to see if all control items are set to "AUTO"
This should take care of problem. The camera did not go bad not being used.

Sounds like you will need to send it in for service. Get an estimate as it might be a better spend of your money to just buy a newer camera.

SOURCE: Flash Off

Hi,

Not sure about your camera but most of them yes you can turn of the flash.

Its usually in the settings; just remove it from "automatic flash" to "no- Flash" its sometimes symboled like a lightning arrown downwards. Look around it will be in your settings.

I hope this helps, please don't forget to rate my solution.

Thanks

CHECK THE FLEXABLE TIENS IN THE CAMERA. AFTER MANY USES THE TIENS GET PUSHED IN. USE A SMALL HOOK ASSEMBLY AND PULL THE TIENS OUT TO TOUCH THE BATTERY.REMEMBER TO BE CAREFUL AND NOT PULL TO HARD ON THESE, THEY CAN BREAK.THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME ABOUT MY CAMERA NOT COMING ON!!!

When we take pix w/ my Dad's EASYSHARE DX6490 Digital Camera, there's a huge delay between taking shots. Is there a way to speed up the time it takes after he shoots a pix before he can take...

You can go into the setup menu and make the pictures smaller. They won't be as clear if you blow them up but, for most pictures, they should be fine. Use some trial and error.
Also, check the refresh rate on the manufacturers website. They might have a firmware update that could speed it up a little.

Hi i have kodak DX6490 digital camera, and the videos will not upload to my computer through any program any help?

In order to transfer photos from your camera to your computer, you need to

1- Install the drivers for your camera. The drivers are located in the CD which came with your camera. If you do not have the CD, go to Kodak web site and download the drivers for your kodak from here:

http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=13179&product=EKN035311

2- Connect your camera to your PC.
3- if the drivers are installed correctely, click start, and then the computer icom. There should be an icon with name kodak....., double click that and you probably see one or more folders with your save pictures.
4- Now you can copy or cut and past one or more pictures from your camera to your computer. I hope it helps you.
Good Luck!!!!

Kodak DX6490 error E45

this is actually a known problem or defect with this camera. Sometimes, if you point this out to kodak, they will fix it. I would go to the kodak site and write to them about it, or if there is a number, call that number. This didn't happen to me, but I came across this information when researching a different problem with the same model camera. I wish I could point you to the exact info, but it was a while back. The forum that I was on...some people were able to get their camera fixed, even though it was past warranty, and some were not.

Camera Error Message #E41

Hello Yami, I suggest you that dont leave any digital camera non-used for a long. your error shows that camera needs service. I think that you can not do it yourself. But try onething, just store your camera in a small corrugated paper box twice bigger than camera and leave it in sunlight for a couple of hour. then take it indoor and leave it for an hour to cooldown at room temperature. Now it is suggested to incert the batteries and try to operate. I hope your problem will be fixed. pls remove the battery when you leave the camera in sunlight. good luck.....
