Mitsubishi WD-52525, replaced bulb but still not working
The red light was on so I bought a new bulb and put it in. Pluged up the TV, waited until the green timer light went out pressed the power button. The fan came on, but no picture. After a minuit or so, the red light came on again buring solid. What is the likelyhood that the replacement lamp was bad? Additionally, I removed the lamp cover and placed a plastic piece in the hole to close the switch so I could see what was going on with the lamp. after the fan comes on for a few seconds, the bulb lights up for about 10 seconds and then goes off. After a minute or so, the red light comes back on. What do you think is going on?

Re: Mitsubishi WD-52525, replaced bulb but still not...
SYMPTOM: Power LED does not stop blinking after plug in. CURE: Check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 (1000 uFD, 16V, 105C) on the DM PCB. Check C8F19, C8F21, C8F22 and C8F27 (1000 uFD, 16V, 105C) on the FMT PCB. If any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C). this is what we at the shop check first. it is quite common. on the power supply board look for swelled up capacitors

the circut that detects the bulb has been also failing in these sets
and the conversion chip that controls the picture , and the transformers are not putting out the full power they are supposed to.
this set will need to be tested to determine the exact cause or causes
What does not work? Does the green light flash or light at all? Can you "manually" turn on the tv? If the light is RED...the replacement was either installed incorrectly (or is not plugged in correctly to the contacts at the rear) or is the wrong bulb. Be sure the door to the front of the bulb in on as there is a micro-switch at the lower right that MUST be engaged.
Press the input/device button and the menu button at the same time. Green LED will blink a two digit code blink 1st digit short pause blink 2nd digit longer pause and repeat. Any number of problems can cause this same symptom.
If the red LED your refering to is the Status LED and not the Lamp LED then you have big problems. A red Status LED indicates no communication from the Format board to the DMD board (light engine). 1/2 the time caps on the format board itself the other 1/2 must send entire electronics package to Mitsubishi.
I have exactly the same problem and just had a tech leave after a $145 service visit. The cause is a problem in one of the 12 circuit boards that make up the electrical chassis (newer models only have two boards). I was given a form stating that some parts are no longer available for the first generation Mitsubishi DLPs (2004 build year). In that case, the only option is to have the entire chassis removed shipped to Georgia and refurbished. This can take up to two months and some sets have had to have this done multiple times.
I have to wait until tomorrow for news on whether the part is available or a chassis repair is the only option, and the costs. But it's looking like I have a $3000 paper weight after only 3 years (warranty was one year; the store's extended warranty was only two years). I will must likely just have to go out and buy a new set which will NOT be a Mitsubishi
I get the same red lamp led indicator, bought the lamp and I am unable to locate the lamp inside the tv, took the lower back panel out and don't see anything that i can make out the lamp housing. is hard to replace the capacitor and where is the power board located. thanks a mill.
